Jesus' Power Revealed

21

Some people have that ability to walk into a room and take charge of their environment. And people respond to them. Jesus was one of them. On the night of his betrayal and arrest, when some might consider Jesus to be at his weakest moments, Jesus reveals His power! John 18 reveals that Jesus took charge of the garden exchange. The betrayal by Judas did not take Him by surprise. Jesus voluntarily surrendered. In the garden, He demonstrated that He is GOD in the flesh-- for when He spoke His name, I AM-- those in the arresting party involuntarily fell backward in homage of the One who is King of kings, and Lord of lords. In the garden arrest, Jesus, as the Good Shepherd, made sure that the faith of his disciples would not be sorely tested, but secured their release. Throughout everything, Jesus is in control. The incident reminds us of another future event when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father. We can either bow now voluntarily to the saving of our souls, or one day you will bow involuntary to the damning of your soul.
