The Doctrines of Grace: Limited Atonement (Part I)

254 ( 198 | 56 )

This week we resume our series on what it means to be Reformed Baptists. Our focus now turns to the third point, or the "L" in the well-known acronym TULIP, which stands for "Limited Atonement." Of the Doctrines of Grace, also known as the Five Points of Calvinism, Limited Atonement is likely the most crucial and controversial. If you've ever heard someone make the statement, "I'm a 4 point Calvinist!" instead of holding to all 5 points, it is highly likely it is the doctrine of Limited Atonement that they take issue with. With this in mind, and given its centrality and import, our next few sermons will be focused on examining this doctrine. Did Jesus really die for the whole world? Was His death universal, for all people, including those who find themselves suffering for eternity in Hell? Or was Jesus sent to die for a select, or chosen group of people, His chosen people? Is there a Trinitarian aspect to redemption? Please join us for "The Doctrines of Grace: Limited Atonement (Part I)" as we attempt to answer these questions and more!
