Our Suffering Savior

In the 3 rd Article of the Apostles' Creed we confess the birth of our Lord. Tonight in the
4 th Article we confess His suffering and death. In one breath we go from the womb to
the tomb! To make sure that we do not too easily pass over all that Jesus had to
endure so that we could be redeemed, our Catechism this evening has us consider the
suffering of our Savior. Tonight we learn of:

1. The substance of Jesus' suffering

2. The role of Pontius Pilate.

3. The significance of Crucifixion.
