The Cup At Gethsemane

160 ( 106 | 54 )

Near the city of Jerusalem is the Mount of Olives and on the Western Slope of the Mount of Olives is a Garden called Gethsemane.

I have been to the place that they call Gethsemane.

Ive walked up the Mount of Olives. Today they still farm part of the Mount of Olives.

At the Base of the Mount of Olives is a Garden with Ancient Olive trees.

Jesus goes to Gethsemane with 11 Disciples.

At the garden of Gethsemane Jesus ended up praying alone to His Heavenly father.
The crowds are gone, the disciples are asleep and Jesus finds Himself without any human company to go through a time of agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Some people believe that the old Olive trees in the Garden go back to the time of Christ.

Gethsemane in fact means: Olive Press. The olives would have been crushed in the press and then the oil was used for cooking.
Judas the disciple who betrayed Jesus knew where Jesus would be that night and so Judas comes with a large force to betray Jesus for the price of a common slave.

In the garden of Gethsemane Jesus was faced with the fact that he was to become sin for the whole world.

Jesus Christ at the cross was going to die for the sins of every single person that God has ever created. God must punish sin and He punished Jesus for the sins of all time.

Jesus bore the sins of every rapist, every murderer, every liar, every thief. He bore the sins of the Hitler's, the Stalin's, the Pol Pot's and every evil person that has ever walked this.

He bore the sins of the most evil people that have ever existed and He bore your sins and my sins.

God the father punished his Son for every sin that every person has ever done. He became a curse for us.
