Responding to Jesus: Go, Preach, Trust

The resurrection has made us
all evangelists.
This is made plain in the gospel
records of our Savior's final
instructions to His closest
followers.
However concise, Mark's gospel
is no exception.
"Go into all the world and preach the
gospel to every creature."

Mark 16:15 (NKJV)
Where are disciples to go tell others of Christ's
work for sinners? Everywhere.
Who are disciples to tell of God's grace toward
sinners revealed in Christ? Everyone.
At Hayden Bible Church, we're blessed to
pray for and give to gospel work around the
world – from Asia to Europe to South America.

Yet the commission that Jesus gave to His
apostles – and the church He birthed through
their preaching – was not merely a call to church
mission programs far away. It was a call for
each Christian to be a purposeful disciple-maker
wherever the Lord placed him.
For this work, the Lord promised special
enablement... power to overcome the obstacles
that men, and Satan himself, place in the way of
gospel proclamation.
This Sunday, we'll continue our study of Mark
16 as we consider the Lord's commission to His
apostles – and its implications for us.
