Exegesis: The Lord's Supper has a future referent. We will always share it with our King (vv. 14-16) and with one another (vv. 17-18). The Lord's Supper has a past referent. The cross is the central (v. 19a) and vital (v. 19b) focus of history. The Lord's Supper has a present referent. Christ is our precious (v. 20a) and personal (v. 20b) Savior.
