in the dark. Amen, sitting in the dark. And
my mind wondered this evening, what can the Lord do in the dark? I believe God, he'll do his best
work in the dark. You know how I know? Well, you
walk out the doors and look around, and honey, before any of this
was made, she was dark. Before God ever began to speak,
and we know all this, but brother, his spirit moved upon the face
of the deep, and he seen that this world was dark. It was void
and without fault. Honey, God is able to work in
the dark. Aren't you glad for the help?
I'm glad he can move in the dark. Old Solomon said that the Lord

work in the dark. We'll get loose in a minute. He said, when I sat in darkness,
maybe I'm the only one, maybe you've never been there. Maybe

myself in the dark. Amen. I don't have the time. We don't
have the time today to talk about all that God can do in the dark. the disciples was out on the
sea. I don't know, I've never been
out on a boat. I can only imagine how scared
and how afraid they were. When they could look and and
see a wall of water headed towards him. Amen, but it was dark out

of the sea, and it was as dark as it had ever been for them. Everybody all right today? But
thank God, it might have been dark to see them, but he knew
where they were. And he'd come a-walkin' on the

what to do. But there's a little old virgin
that give birth to the savior. He does his best work in the
dark. It was dark for 400 years. God
was speaking and God was talking. But all of a sudden, I thank God last to begin the
chant. Good work in the dark. Moses said, Amen, God. I know I'm scattered. God, begin
to give them. I feel like somebody's already
ready to go home. Amen. God, begin to give them. Amen,
the ten commandments. Amen. And God told the children
of Israel, he said, God spoke out of thick darkness, and here's

how weak we are. And man, we can shout one Sunday
and be in the dark the next. But through it all, he's God,

sometimes when Paul and the sons of Shannon and things is good
and things is well and God's answering our prayers. Amen,

dark. They're quitting in the dark. They're throwing it down in the
dark. The churches are sitting in the
dark. The preachers are in the dark. The deacons are in the dark. But honey, we don't have to stay
that way. God was able to say, let there
be light. And there was light. You reckon a certain God that
spoke it all into existence is the same God right now? I believe
He is. It breaks my heart. Those people
used to have a song. They used to have a testimony. They used to have a zeal. And
they're sitting in the dark tonight. Those people that have felt the
power of God They've been loathed to their soul, and they're sitting
in the dark. Oh, but listen. There is a light. Let me tell you how I know. Jesus got over there, and he
told them, he said, I am the light of the world. But he didn't
leave it that way. What did he say before he ascended
back? Ye. You are the light of the world. Well, get on over. I believe
it's about Matthew chapter five. Don't hold me to that. Amen. But he said, to let your light
so shine before me that they may see your good works and glorify
your father, which You can't measure dark. The less light
you have, the darker it'll get. People have got so blind today,
we don't even know when it's dark. Well, they've got a rail, they've
got flashlights, and they measure that in lumens, ain't that right? They've got them up to 21,000
lumens. I've seen them advertise at Waukega
and it pitch dark and turn the light off and it's just like
daylight again. But it does not take the place
of the sun. Brother, we've walked in with
little old broke. Barry's has been my class. He'll
try to shine me up in the darkness. But there's nothing that can
take the place of the sun. There's nothing that can shine
as bright as the sun. We've got to the point, in the
gospel of John, he said the light shined in darkness and the darkness
comprehended it not. You sit in the dark for a while.
Hey, man, you get up and turn your light on. Hey, this is what
you'll do. You sit in the dark, Paul. Hey,
man, you turn the light on. It brightens your skin. You'll
draw up. That's right, Bill. Honey, when the light of the
gospel begins to shine, I can watch people. I watch them scream. I watch them grow. It hurts them. They don't want
it. But I say, if you don't want
that, Lord, give me that. If you don't want no life, Lord,
shine a little on me. I'll take all I can get. I want
to make it to glory. It's over with. What I said in darkness, what
I said in darkness, God help us today. Help us, Lord. Amen. What I said in darkness, have
you been there? Are you there now? I keep coming
back to this. I have the last few weeks. Amen. If God's answering our prayers,
we'll love him. But if he ain't giving us what
we want, we don't love him much. Amen. When God has a movement
in our life, we love him. But the very minute we pray and
he don't answer, I won't go back to the dark. It's lonely in the dark, ain't
it? It's lonely in the dark. Oh, but when the light's on,
Blake, I can see you. I can see Nicky. And man, y'all with me. If we
ever need the light on, it's right now. We ever need to lie
down. It's the day that we live here. My brother talked about revivals
of old this morning. And we look at that, I confide
to you. Amen. They talk about thousands
getting saved. Amen. We say, oh, that was the
end. If we could get out of the park,
we could see it right now. We can see it one more time,
but we've got too many distractions I figured this would be sweet. As I said in the darkness, but
he wasn't satisfied there. I bet you I don't ever want to
be satisfied in the dark. I've been in the dark before,
but I wasn't happy about it. And I begged and pleaded with
the Lord until I got back out there. Glory be. I've never seen such
a pitiful day. In a man where people love the
darkness, they love the people. Ask anybody how they're doing,
and anybody that's walking in the lifeline, they'll say, oh,
God's been good to me. But now you say you're doing
all right. They'll give you every sob story. Every day, man. Tell you how bad they got it.
That sounds to me like somebody's in the dark. I have no reason
to hang my head today, and you don't either. Well, God ain't
answering my prayer. Are you in hell? Are you in hell?
Are you burning out of hell? We've got to reach and walk in
the light. I pray, help us Lord, help our
church. I said it this morning, but when
the church gets right, everything else will fall in order. I hear
that, I feel it. You don't have to tell me your
thoughts, I just heard it. I've told you over and over,
I care enough about my church, I care enough about these hoes,
I care enough about the lost ones that need to come in and
get bullied. To stand up and make you, if I gotta make a smile
every time I get up, I say, Lord, help me make them angry. Move us to change. Move us to

world. Nobody can speak to us. We're lighting all the heads
off. Amen. Everybody that looks at us, we're
mad. Oh, and then we'll turn around
and say, won't you come go to church? Somebody make us mad. Let me go tell him what I think. God makes them get liberated. This is an unruly evil. I'm gonna preach a little
while. Somebody say something we don't
like, and we gotta run our mouth or die. Where if the light was shining
the way it should, it'd say just leave it alone. We've set in
the dark so long the order has got way on line. The order in the home and the
order in the church. The lights quit shining so long
that we made up our own order. The poor woman's the boss. Now she runs everything. Well,
I've heard them say, I don't need no man. That ain't how God
designed it. God set the home in order long
before he ever did the church. And we've been sitting in darkness
so long. I love you women. Until we rose
up above the man. And we're calling the shots. Hey, y'all carry me. For God's
sake. And me, I ain't got enough backbone. Praise the Lord. You can look
at me, man, if you want to. We're sitting in the dark. Church orders got plum out of
line. Well, let me get back on the home for just a minute. Now, y'all can tell your mom
and dad what they gonna do. Youngins tellin' Mom and Daddy
where they gonna go. Hey man, did you ever thought
if Allen said it, Gordon Lewis said it the other day, I wish
they'd bust every ball and break every bat. I seen some yesterday down at
Price's Creek store. It might have been Friday. Somebody said, we gonna see ya
at church Sunday. No, little Johnny's gotta play
ball in Bristol. Sounds to me like somebody is
a-sittin' in the dark. It had to have been an atheist
to come up with travel ball. Cause they can't believe in God. They'll drag their babies all
around the world. Drag them from town to town and
state to state. But they can't dare, that's why
some ain't here today. But they can't dare bring them
down to the house of God. They'll meet God with that one.
So why interrupt it? It'll stand when it's burned
in hell. It took me a minute, but I feel
like the weight got lifted. We're sitting in the dark. Church is dwindling. People ain't
faithful. People don't care. They're unconcerned, and they're
sitting in the dark. Now, young'uns, they'll act like
a bunch of monkeys outside. Ain't no thing wrong with that.

to the day where you run into your church folk at Engels and
you all out there. They'll look like any other old
Jezebel running around. Well, help us, Lord. You've heard me say this, but
Tracy, you can dig me up when I die. These two tattoos on my
body, I wish they wasn't there, but they are. You won't find another one. Now, preachers lie. Sounds to me like somebody's
in the darkness. Well, you're getting there a
little too straight. I hope they hear it, that's all
right. I'm gonna do my best to pray
for him. The boy that's pastoring the
church, I used to pastor it. Amen, amen, you run into him
out in public and he's got a pair of short britches on up to here.
Got his flip flops on and running around. Hey, listen, we supposed
to love. It's more than actions. And if
we don't look the part, sure, it's more than looking. But it
starts with how we love. And I realize, I realize that,
man, that we can... If you live back in the heart
of where nobody can see you, You get out on your porch and
wear whatever you want to wear. I live right beside it, 19. You have to go up there and think. See me going to the yard and
driving by, running around, I'll turn my shirt off. Amen, if you live in a holler
where nobody can see you, I don't see a thing wrong with you. Ain't nobody looking at you when
you get in the shower. Some of these don't like you. Hey man, up in the hell, here
we are sitting in the darkness. I remember I was out in sin,
doing things I ought not do. Me and Abbey was just jacking
up. I went down there to Parker's to get a load of mulch. Had my
shirt off. Daddy was working down there
then. I loaded that mulch. Daddy come over there. He said,
if you don't, if you don't put that shirt on, I'm gonna wad
you up and throw you back in that truck. You know what Charlie did? I
put my shirt back on. Too hot for that preacher. How hot hell is. Too hot for that, back in how
hot it was when Jesus stepped down and come out with the keys.
But they said we are supposed to leave. And the brothers fell
apart. But now we've got blessings. We've got dresses now. And if they get up real fast,
you'll see everything they got. And they wearing it in the church. Look how holy we are, we got
our dresses on. And they can't praise the Lord, because if they
did, it'd come up to here. I don't know why some of y'all
are dying on me. I don't understand why we can
preach on grace and some will shout, and I get right on into
the truth. And some will say, you're a liar. I don't understand that, do you?
I believe the truth will stand when it's all over. And we're all sitting in the
dark. I realize that I'm under a little scrutiny, so as my wife
shows my children, ask him how many times she's
come prancing down those steps on Sunday, and I'd say, you might
as well go change that. I can't tell you how many times
that lip's run out that long, as she's stomped back up People come in the church now
looking in your way You don't have to go to the dance
club to see nakedness anymore. A lot of times you can just go
to church. I won't lie, don't you? I won't lie. He said to seek ye after your
past. I won't bury it. I realize it's We can have a
dress down to our ankles and still be in the dark. You can
cover up your nakedness and still be in the dark. But you cannot
be in the light and look like the world. You can't do it. It's a brain revival. Order in the halls got from mixed
up. Hey man, they'll take off on
Super Bowl Sunday night just to watch the game. I told you the other day, there
ain't a ball team in this world that was able to reach down where
I was. There ain't a ball team on this planet that was able
to call to me when I was in the hell that I was living in. He's
worth living for. He's not worthy. Everybody grin
real big. Well, the home's got out of order.
Let's move right on to the church. I moved right into the pub pit.
Listen, I ain't the boss down here. Go with me. I ain't the boss. And you ain't neither. I love you. I love you. I love Tracy Henson. I don't believe I can make you
mad. But it's my understanding you was right here when they
built this place, wasn't it? Praise the Lord, he's been here
that long, and don't make him the boss. Good deacons, God's given us,
and I thank the Lord for them. They ain't the boss. That's where
we've got trouble in the church for the day. And we've done left
God on the outside. And the deacons have got more
worry about money. How we gonna do this? How we
gonna do that? Amen, I'll done left God off. I'd rather have a handful in
the light than a house full of darkness and have the power of
God. Praise the Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank God, brother,
we've been in the church world, sitting in the dark, and we've
been going on vacation, calling mission trips. I believe that the gospel needs
to be preached all over our world. Only they'll go on these little
mission trails. Man, why are there two piece
in their bikinis? Hands out a couple gospel tracks? You know what I mean? Sound like somebody's in the
dark. Don't take nothing to get them
out. All it takes is somebody saying
one wrong thing, somebody looking at them the wrong way, somebody
not shaking their hands, somebody not hugging their neck, and they'll
quit and they'll walk away. I told you the other day, people's
gonna follow a dead man. All right, straight off to heaven. Here we are now, honey. Ain't
no where drinking's not a sin. There ain't no fornication's
not a sin. They'll go to the club on Saturday,
and get in the choir on Sunday. They'll be shacking up, and we'll
let them teach Sunday school. They'll live like hell out there,
and we'll put them in office in the church. In the name of the Lord. Help us, Lord. I said this the
other day. Amen, buddy. That's why they
say you ought not preach on other churches. I don't want us to
get in that shape. I'm gonna pray for you. Absolutely. But I want to warn
us, we don't need to get in that shape. I told you the other day,
God's blessed us. As far as believing how we believe,
this is probably one of the biggest churches in the county. There's a lot of good men still
preaching, still preaching the gospel in its entirety. But it seems like the churches
are getting fewer and fewer. People are leaving, going after
a show, going after this, going after that. Well, they even give
us something for our young people to do. We got them all together yesterday,
what a blessing it was. But I tell you, if you intend
on coming here, let me tell you what I'm gonna give them babies. Every Sunday morning, every Sunday
night, every Wednesday night, every first Friday, I have all
intentions. We'll play, we'll play volleyball,
we'll run and we'll jump. I'm gonna listen to me before
anything else gets done. I'm gonna tell them babies, I'm
not just selling dog dishes. Praise the Lord. Let's all take a trip, we'll
go have church in case it's cold. That'll be good, I'd like to
have a meeting in one of them old churches. Just a good time
to vacate. They'll ride go-karts, they'll
go down to the restaurant. Amen. I've seen it, I've been
there, I've done it. Well, amen. Riding go-karts looking
like a Harley, looking like the world. Amen. Oh, amen. Let's
go to Cage Cove and pretend like we're holy. I told you this a hundred times. But if you want to dress any
way you want, if you want to live any way you want, you're
more than welcome to come here. But don't tell nobody where you're
going. Cause if you're cussing one man
in the tent, come on down to Cherithbrook and go with us. You bringing a reproach upon
us, brother. Ain't that right? Well, you've
come so far now, Dustin, they call it self-righteousness. That's true, brother. You're
just being self-righteous. You're taking it too far. Come
on, brother. Do I think I'm the only one that
believes right? No, I don't. That's serious,
brother. God's still got plenty. I believe
that I'm looking over a pretty decent crowd that still wants
the truth. You reckon 40 years ago a man
had to get up and tell people to look like the
church? Now we'll take the influencer's
word for it. And you let somebody on Instagram tell us to shave
our head, and honey, they'll get shaved. This is the new trend, ladies.
Shave your head. People, women, they be walking
around bald. But you let God's word come tell
us how to walk, how to live. I just don't believe it. You reckon when we stand before
God and the books is open, you think Facebook will be one? Reckon when we meet the Lord
and the books will be open, God will say, hold on a minute and
have to pull out his iPhone and open up Instagram. We're getting quiet now. You know what's gonna be open
on judgment day? He ain't gonna look and see how
many followers you got. He ain't gonna look and see how
many, thank God, how many recipes that you put on Pinterest. He ain't gonna see out any Bible
verses that you've got on Instagram and posted. He's gonna see if
your life looks like this. He's gonna see if what you've
done looks like this. Praise the Lord. Boy, we started
off rough. I feel all right. I don't wanna be sitting in the
darkness. Preached the meeting down there
years ago. Me and Lee, it was rough from
the get go. I mean, it was just, I don't
know what you call it, dark. Well, there's a little girl got
up the same one night. All she had on was a look like
you had sprayed her t-shirt on out of a can. Him in a pair of
leggings. You already know how I feel about
that. She got up to sing and they put
the track in. She started singing. Had a ring
you could leave a bull hanging out of her nose. Standing up there, boy, she was
letting it rip. People's assuagin' snot. I mean,
there's a cryin'. And I was sittin' just about
where you are, brother. I thought, Lord, have mercy. They gonna
run me off in a minute. There's a cryin'. I'm goin' on,
and she finally quit her cattle haulin' and said, hey, my brother
said, come on and preach to us. Well, I got up there, you coulda
heard a pin drop. It's a sad day when people care
more about a show than they do the truth. We've traded morals for immortality. We've traded standards for a
show. Amen. But listen. I don't care what the church
up the road does, what the church down the road does. All I can
do is just pray for them. But honey, in this place, I want
us to have all the heart that God will give us. Praise the Lord. Thank you, Lord. Coming home yesterday. Looked over across the road,
there's a big old cross. And I thought, boy, that looks
good. And I looked right under it,
and there's a liquor store. Boy, they'll stamp Jesus on anything. That's holy, that's Jesus. Amen. Everybody all right? I ain't done yet. Some of us need to go home and
clean out the closet. Some of us need to go home and
look in the mirror and say, Lord, do I look like you? Paul said to examine yourselves,
whether you be in the faith. God, help me look in here. And
say, Lord, does that look like you? Next time that you start to run
off at the mouth, thank Him in it. Lord, what do you want me
to do? You might find out that when
we clean everything up and get back in the light, God might
be a little more apt to do what you want him to. Thank you, Jesus. I'm just gonna hit from all of
it while we're here. We'll get in the choir and sing
about the goodness of God on Sunday. Amen and then we'll turn
the radio on Monday. Then we'll talk about him and
the fornicating and getting drunk. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Straight is the gate, and narrow
is the way, and few there be the time, for the longer time
goes on, the fewer there's gonna be. But God will always have
people that wanna walk in the light. Help us, Lord. Used to be a time, Paul, my men
could call them by name, and that hit the altar. Matter of fact, that's what the
New Testament says to do. To rebuke before all. That all might fear. You have to hang me. If I say, Nicky, you ain't right, I just used you as an example,
but you still know what to do. We used to call out people for
being unfaithful. We're not dressing right. Man wants to get up there and
call names. You talk about sending the crowd. God and Daniel and Jack, he's
gonna preach him today. But if the Lord ever gives you
something to tell me, tell me. Cause we all in this thing together. Thank the Lord for letting me
come all the way back around to my thought of many ago. People put the preacher up here
and his wife and his family, they ought to live like this
and look like this and act like this and do this. When really,
the same standard that you're putting on me and my wife, you
need to live up to your faith. Same standard that you laid out
for everybody else, it's easy to do this. It's easy for me
to point a finger at Dustin and Daniel, Paul, and say, oh, even
look at them, look what they're doing. Hardest part is pointing
a finger back at this. Now we're raising up a bunch
of coddled, spoiled babies in the house of God that cannot
stand the truth. Paul said, I fed you with milk
and not with meat because you wasn't able to bear it. Now people
are getting mad at the meat. All they want's a bottle stuck
out of their mouth. All they want's a pacifier. Honey,
we can't expect to feed any new babes if we're on the bottle
of ice. Praise the Lord. Ain't too rough,
is it, Jeff? I like it. Sittin' in the dark. We've sat
in the dark. I've sat in the dark. Hey, man,
I've been places and preached when I wasn't pastoring. Big
places. Went in and preached and my flesh
say, boy, this be a good place to be. They'd pay you good. Look at the crowd. And then I'd
hear the Lord say, yeah, but you'd have to compromise. I'd rather just stay with him. I'm going to say this, and I'm
not bragging on myself. Amen. I told the church a while
back, don't give me a damn. I don't ever want anybody to
say that I'm down here for any money. There's one reason I'm
here. I want us all to walk in the
light. Now with me. Now, honey. Church asked me to pastor one
time. Amen. Amen. A few of the deacons
said that you pray about. Even though you just pray about
being a pastor, I prayed. Well, the chairman of the deacon
board, even though you find that in that book. He said we ain't got enough money
to pay him to feed them young ones. I've been preaching to him. I just call it like I see it,
honey. Listen, if a man's after money,
he's not a shipper, he's a hirer. I'd rather tell you the truth,
with that all I have would be just two nickels to rub together. That's to give me the offering
every single Sunday. I want to walk in the light don't
you? I want to walk in the light. Bless you sis. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Some of us ought to go get our
CD collection. Y'all carry me. Some of you need to do like Jonathan
done the other day. Whatever it is, a hindrance,
you destroy it. I kill it. It ain't worth losing
that relationship with God. Praise the Lord. I'm gonna walk
in the light. Amen. I don't want to walk in
the light. I don't want to be sitting in
the darkness. Thank you, Jesus. Everybody crying
real big. Praise the Lord. If it comes
between you and God, guess what? That's your God. Things are all right in moderation.
We were talking about it yesterday. There ain't one thing wrong with
him and playing ball. I enjoy it. He might have just
about got too fat and crippled to do it anymore, but I enjoy
it. I have fun. But if that comes
to anything between us and God, that's a gone. I love to hear a dog tree. But if that comes between me
and God, that's my God. Amen, I love to see a white tail
coming through the woods. But if that comes between me
and God, that's my God. Help us, Lord. We've got a lot of gods. Paul got to walking around at
Mars Hill, and boy, they had a God for everything. And all the way down at the end,
I believe it was the smallest one there, they said amen to
the unknown God. Paul said, whom ye so ignorantly
worship. They had a God for everything,
but let's, amen, let's sow God in there too. We make gods out of money. We
make gods out of boats. We make gods out of phones. We
make gods out of TVs. We make gods out of tree stands. We make gods out of everything
else. The mess just told the one god in there with it. He'll
not play second fiddle or anything else. It's here. Watch the deal.
Praise the Lord. I thought for sure, Clyde, that
Lord got the dead in me on that scripture. I thought, boy, they'll
shout tonight. You ought to. We ought to. Help us, Lord. I don't want to
sit in the dark. I don't want to sit in the dark. I want to be in the light. I
want to be in all of it. Let me tell you how bright he
is. You know, that there's a land where there's no need for the
sun, no stars to shine. This is how bright he is. He's
the only light. I tell you, you know back in
the Holy of Holies in Old Tabernacle, that there wasn't no windows. There wasn't no candles lit. That was it. That was it. We've got so used to artificial
right now. Praise the Lord. Now, please don't get mad at
me. But if you do, that's all right. Now, amen, brother, naturally,
we're not satisfied with how we look, amen, and the tone and
the complexion of our skin. You don't even have to lay in
the light now. Amen. Now it's called Abel's
self-canner and you can just rub it on. And you'll look like
everybody else. Don't you know how you know?
Praise the Lord, there's somebody that's been in the real light.
They'll have a farmer's can. Y'all carry me. Praise the Lord. Oh, honey, now, we just want
something out of the way as you get out of your tent. Amen. I'm getting above the head. I'm
getting on in there on the spiritual side. But now, honey, we're satisfied. Amen. We're just looking like
the world in here. Having a little artificial make
us feel good. I want something real. I want
something right. If you need to get mad, get mad. It's vanity. Naturally it's vanity. It's vanity. It's vanity. It's vanity. It's vanity. Praise the Lord. Ladies and gentlemen,
if you're trying to look good, even for everybody else to notice
you, there's only one man in your life that you can give everybody
a blessing, and it's the one God gave you. I'm going to preach for a minute.
I love you. Amen.
