So it certainly is good to be back in the Lord's house. Amen, brother. Thank you for yesterday when we just passed the flag and just the fellowship and everything you put out. Thank you for that. I thank the Lord for my church. Amen, brother. I've had it on my heart all week long. and everything. I've always been one that I love. I love history and different things. I've always enjoyed it. But I've been reading and studying just about just different things. And the Lord laid it on my heart. And I brought to William & Mary this morning a box of matches. I was reading this past week, and I thought about these matches we all know. We all know what they're for. I thought about if they stay in this box, none of these matches will ever be lit. I was reading about different wildfires and different things. I've hit different fires throughout the world. 90% of them all start with just one scar. And as I was reading and studying and going to where I was talking about and studying about, I began to look up at different revivals throughout the world that broke down in history. And there was one that really, really stuck out to me. But I was reading, and there's this man who was in the early 1900s. This man has crossed seas, and he began to want and desire to see a change in his community there where he lived. And there's a preacher, and this man, he began to wake up every morning at one o'clock in the morning. And history tells us that he would pray until the break of the day for his community, and the desire to see a change take place. And I thought about it, and it went on a time after that. It was a teaching, some of the young people on different things. And I thought about this one, during that time, this one girl had seen a change in this man's life, that the power of God was more real in this man's life. And the Lord began to convict this one girl. And I thought about when it said that, the way it talked, it said that she was a real tenant and a real bastard. And she waited outside of the classroom until he would come out. And at this time, she didn't mean it. This girl went to this man's house and began to talk to him. And this girl began to get saved. And as time goes on in this same classroom, the teacher, he stands up. He asked the whole class, he said, I want you to tell me what the Lord means to you. And I thought about, and there's different answers, different ones answered, this one boy said, And her voice is a quiver when she says it. And she says, all I know is that I love the Lord with all of my heart. And I thought about this one girl getting out of the box and allowing the Lord to light the match she could have. I thought about this revival just by this one girl's obedience. A revival breaks out, and it lasts over six months, and history tells us that over 100,000 souls were saved during this revival. And you say, well, that can't happen today. And I thought about it as I was reading them what really stuck out to me. of people from all across the land would come to this place. You can look it up. It's called the Welsh Revival. I thought about the people all across the land would want to come over there. And it wasn't to hear who was going to be a preacher. And I thought about the day and hour in which we live. I thought about revivals will be coming. I sent out, well, if it ain't so and so, I don't wanna come. If it ain't this one, I don't wanna come. And I thought about, and what really stuck out to me in history as it was written down, it said that people all across the land, they come for one reason, to see God. And I thought about church, if we're gonna have a river, you said, well, that can't happen now. All it takes is just I thought about church. We know the Bible and Genesis, it talks about Isaiah going up the mountain, Abraham with Isaac. Isaac looks at Abraham and he tells him, he says, we've got the wood, we've got the fire, but where is the sacrifice? and not knowing at the time that he was the sacrifice. And you ain't going over. And we read how when they sacrificed, how the priest would go in, and he would lay the sacrifice upon the altar, and they would wait upon God to come down and consume it. Church, we've got the wood. It's gonna take each one of us. I thought about, if we're willing, the Bible tells me, if we be willing and obedient, we can eat the good of the land. I thought about another place, Samuel, he began to tell, he began to tell Solomon, he told Solomon, he said, obedient, to obey is better than to sacrifice. In truth, all the I don't know how much to say. Do you think that that little girl, she was a 17 year old girl. I thought about, do you think when she stood up, that she thought by my obedience, 100,000 people is gonna be saved? Church is gonna take, we have to be obedient. We can have serious meetings, keep coming and going, but a revival, a revival will last a very long time. The Bible tells us that Zion will prevail. If we'll get to the place, Jerry, that will prevail, sons and daughters will come forth. there's there's different there's two i read about two different types of matches and out of this lady lord help me get it from my heart over my mouth there's a type of matches and that's what this one is right here this match that's in the inside this box The only type of thing that it'll strike on is what it's designed for, is this right here. And I thought that there's other matches that'll strike on anything. And I thought that church, we need to let God strike our match. God and Him alone. I thought about the world's different religions and different classes. They're on the strike on anything and everything. The church, it's gonna take God, and it's gonna take God alone. And I love the two men that's a girl, but they cannot bring her back. It's gonna take God and God alone. And it's gonna take us, a will and a desire. These matches that's inside of this box, that they don't know. I let them understand, all the team, all their purpose is, is for me to take one out and strike. But church, we've got to be willing to allow the Lord to strike us and set us on fire. I thought about you take one of them little matches and you can go out here and it can burn a great big area just by one little match. And it won't be obedient. Our community, as I was reading about that well survivor, the bars shut down. of the different stores they shut down. People that had lots of gifts, they were reconciled. That's what revival does. But then the souls were saved. I want them to be able when they get older to say, I remember This is now the world's more wicked earth. God's not changed. God's the same yesterday, today, and forever. He changes not. And if we want revival, we can have it. If God killed us, we have not because of what? Because we asked not. Church, if we want to see our people saved, if we want to see our souls revived, what does revival mean? I thought about Peter. He said today, I'd like to speak He said, Lord, stir up our pure minds by way of remembering where we was born and how well the Lord delivered our lives. I love this place. I love our community. I love it. We all know how wicked it's getting, but God can change things. I always say, well, there's going to be a great fall of the world. We don't have to be a part of it. We don't have to be a part of it. Our church can still be on fire. I love you. I love you. I am so ashamed of all the wrongs I've done. I know I've had to pay. I'd be bound to face hell's flame. The Lord's gotta give me just old natural things sometimes for how to show me the spiritual side so you bear with me. Yesterday morning, I got up real early, had to drive to Irving, Kentucky, and I didn't get a transmission from a skidder. All morning long, I was going up the road and it was dark, and I tried to talk to the Lord, and it seemed like I couldn't get a word from him. I got all the way up there and loaded. That transmission started back down 75 south, headed back toward the house, and I heard him speak. I'm glad that he knows where we are. Here I was, headed down the road, and he asked me, he said, where are you going? I said, I'm going home. Well, he said, what do you see? I looked, Daniel, there's a couple cars in front of me. There's a couple behind me. I looked in the opposing lanes, and it was backed up bumper to bumper, going the other way. and the Lord begin to deal with my heart. I'm afraid there's more going back today than there is on the right way. I'm afraid there's more today, honey. Hey, man that are walking away from God, I said this, The other night we've come to a time where there's almost more backslip than there is lost hope. We've come to a day where there's a lot of people and men that have turned around and going back the other way. But can I say I have all intentions, only one. making it home. I have all intentions on getting to a better place. And man, this highway of holiness, there is no unclean thing. The Bible don't say that we'll walk, it said that can walk. So it's a holy way, ain't that right? That way of holiness is clean, and it's right. That's why they're turning around. That's why they're going the other way. Because the way of holiness is too clean. There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. And so there's a lot that's a-turnin' around. I went up off the road a little further down, and the Lord said, what do you see? And I looked, and in between the opposing lanes on 75, there was a place where you could get off But it has a big sign that said no U-turns. Authorized vehicles only. I've seen so many turn and go the other way. That Nicky, I'd love to be able to go back after him. But I can't. I'd love to be able to make the turn and get him. But I can't. But I know one that's authorized. I'm not going to be long this morning. I'm going to tell you what the Lord did me yesterday. You get up to them exits. Amen. Before you ever get to an exit out and they'll be a sign. It'll tell you all the amenities. Everything that'll be on the exit. You don't get out of the will of God overnight. You don't wake you, you don't go to bed. And good grace is with God, and wake up out of his will. Amen, there'll be soft things along the way. And if there ain't things, it'll draw your mind away from the Lord. Makes me wonder if you even know him to start with. Amen, there'll be signs. Dustin, there'll be things come up. Tell you how good it is over there. I'll tell you all the way. For miles, Joe. You can look for miles. And see love's truck stop sign. Sticking way up above everything else. I knew you and I can look out today. And see everything that's going on. And it'll draw it in. Hey man, you know them signs, they wasn't bland. It's colorful. They look good. It'll draw your eyes to them. And the next thing you think, well I'm thirsty. Or I might need a little gas. I know what it is. I know what it is to get off on the wrong exit. If you ain't ever, I hope you know, but I know what it is. You gotta get on up there before you get to the Cumberland River. I was coming through the Gap Boyd, and the Lord said, what do you see? Now both sides of the road climb. Hey man, nothing but a rock bluff. They didn't go around it. They didn't go over it. They didn't dig a tunnel and go under it. But they bled it. They blasted it out. And they went through it. Y'all with me? I told you I ain't gonna keep you long. There's only one way to get there. Jesus told Thomas, he said, I am the way of the truth and the lie. David said, when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. That's strong that the builders reject it. Honey, that's the only way. What can I say? If man turns around, they'll have to go right back over him. Get out of here. You could look that straightaway at 75 Clyde. It's straight as a gun barrel, but it's just like this. I could look, Daniel, and see the other. Hey, man, the road way down there. But it was just like this. I'm not the only one that's ever like this. These times when I'm up on the mat and I see the end of the road, I think, oh boy, I've got to move. Start off the hill and get down there in the valley and say, God, where are you, where are you at? God, where are you? Oh, then I start to climb. Thank God that we don't stay in the valley forever. get another glimpse of where I'm going. Amen, and it'll pick me up enough to be ready for the next round. Out on down 75, seen one of them sitting beside the road. Somebody had stole the Tarzan wheels off of her. This is what happened. Something happened. He couldn't make the journey. Something happened, he couldn't go any further. And he stopped there. Now they can't go nowhere. How many people we seen come in and leave? Something happened. It was God not enough for them to make the journey. I realize we're in a day where people say if they go back out that they never had it to start with. That's a bunch of hogwash. That's the kind of hell. I've been on the order. I've got things done right with God. But I know what it is to leave him. I found here where that truck was. Sitting beside the road the Tarzan wheel stole and gone. I think work gonna have to be done for that thing to be roadworked again. What happened to that little old young lad over there that left Jerusalem, headed down to Jericho? What happened to him? I would say that he fell among thieves. They stripped him, robbed him, left him there naked. And they say, oh my, your adversary, the devil, is going about like a roaring lion. He made of it, it's dumped in sin. The brother said it yesterday, he'll kill you. You are no match for the devil, but greater is he that's in you than he that's in the world. I don't know why somebody's looking at me so evil. It's going to get good for me in a minute. I mean, my little father, Paul, got down the road. His man got off a 75 back on the 40. Come into Newport and headed toward Hot Springs. And the Lord said, what do you see? I said, Lord, it's looking familiar. I was still a good ways from home, but I knew where I was. I felt like a stranger, looking around at things I had never seen, at a place I had never been. But the closer I got to home, the more I felt like I believed I could make it just a little further. Oh, the more I'm in this way, the more of a stranger I feel. But the closer I get to home, I say, thank you, Lord. We're almost there. We're almost there. We're almost there. That highway of holiness, no unclean thing can walk there again. I'm almost done. Trying to get old cold or something, my voice about whooped. Wasn't long, I turned in the driveway, Todd, and I heard him speak one more time. He said, what do you see? I said, I see hope. I see hope. One of these days, we stay faithful. Hang on to him and lean on him. He ain't gonna leave us here forever. We'll be able to round the curb and Him say, what do you see? I see hope. I see hope. I'm gonna tell you what the Lord done for me yesterday. I'm just gonna testify now. I got to coming up the road, Joe, and I got to thinking about the times I've been off the exit. Time I'd got way out away from the Lord. Between Emma and Sadie. Abby had a miscarriage. I remember Paul sitting in the doctor's office. I ain't never told Saul this. I remember sitting in the doctor's office. They come in there and Clyde was on the screen in the ultrasound where that little heart was supposed to have been beaten. He said, it's gone. I'm ever sittin' there lookin' at that, just as far away from the Lord as I could get. And I heard him say, don't you think it's time to straighten up? Far enough along they had to do a DNC, take the baby and all that stuff. Abby heartbroken me just out of the will of God. Every time I'll pray, I'll hear something. Don't you remember what you caused? 14 years! I'd water, I'd pray, say, Lord, help me raise these girls. Well, you'd have me to and I'd hear the devil. Don't you remember what you've done? I had a dream off and on for a long time. You may not believe in this, that's all right. Never knew what it was. But I could be over a field cloud and see somebody running in it. Everyone pay no attention. Yesterday I was thanking the Lord for putting me back on the highway. I heard the devil say, Bring that dream back to my mind. And he said, Charlie, he's better off. God's blessed us with four girls. People ask me, where's that boy? Where's that boy? For a long time I didn't know what to say. But I've got an answer. I know where he is. I know where he's at. And I know he's better off. The Lord told me he's better off. He's better off. And now when the old devil says, Charlie, look what you caused, I can say he's better off. He's better off. Nothing else. It'll still haunt me. The old devil will bring it up. But I got an answer. So if anybody of y'all want to ask me, you don't have to. Don't ask me where the ball is. You already know. He's better off. Thank the Lord. Somebody said this other day, if you don't get out of his way, you'll stay with him. If you don't do it, then the devil can't bring it back up to you. Because if you do it, he'll bring it back up. He'll hold you in. He'll hold you in. His job is to cause division and to pull you off the highway. The brother talked about how his flesh wanted to tell him that when he talked that it got quiet. That's just his flesh. I get done preaching and think, well, nobody said amen. Nobody cried. Nobody raised their hand. That's this. The devil could quit Jeff Bundy and we would pull ourselves off the highway. I don't even know how I got from 75 to 40 back over there to Hudson. I don't know. People probably thought I'd lost my mind. I looked down one time doing 90 miles an hour, and that old Chevrolet thought it was just a cruiser. But thank God, there's one I'm talking to. Listen, today, it's best to stay on the highway. It's best to stay where the Lord is. The destiny, if we get off, I'm glad he's merciful. And there's off ramps, but thank God there's on ramps too. Praise the Lord. Thank God for his mercy. Thank God for his grace. Thank God for him showing us things. Thank God for him showing me things. Even that holding me for a long time. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Never touched Him. Never hailed Him. But boy, what a way to go. Be conceived and wake up with the Lord. I can't think of a better way. Praise the Lord. I thank Him for being so good to us. I'm glad I'm on the right way. I'm glad He knows where we are. I'm glad I'm saved today. Hey, man, brother. Hey, brother. Merciful and lonesome. Thank you, Lord. It's good to know I'm good to have a dog like that. I have his car. He gets going down the road, and I don't know what it is that's in it, but when you start to beat or even cross the line, he'll pull you back over. Yeah. Yeah. Thank God for the grace of God. Spirit of God, every time that I got real close to the line, I could feel him pull. I can override it, keep right on the steering, and it'll pull for a long ways. After a while, he'll give me what I want. There ain't never been a soul that's got out of his wheel that God didn't pull on. God didn't warn him. God didn't call him. After a while, he'll give us what we want. It's good to be saved, ain't it? I'll give you my heart today. It felt small on my part. Wasn't no big, long, elaborate message. Thank you, Lord.
