Eat and Drink with Modest and Pious Praise (How to Partake of the Lord's Supper)

90

Topical sermon based on the Westminster Larger Catechism question and answer 174, "What is required of them that receive the sacrament of the Lord's supper in the time of the administration of it?"

In Hebrews 12:28, we are told that we should be ever more modest and pious in our worship than the Old Testament saints at Mt. Sinai, because Christ has gone much higher and closer to God's holy presence on Mt. Zion to represent us, and He actually takes us there.

Remember Christ's body in the bread and in your fellowship. Satisfy yourself on Christ in the Supper. To eat and drink of Christ, develop your appetite for Him. Pay close attention to the body and blood of Christ served to you. Acknowledge and give your compliments to the Master Chef. Eat and Drink with Modest and Pious Praise.
