Confession of Sin

The Bible promises clemency for those who confess their trespass and treason before the Great and Merciful King (1 John 1:9). Nearly every page shows his compassion, leniency, and amnesty absolving sinful man of his guilt. In this brief meditation, Joseph Caryl opens the necessity of sorrowful confession and some marks of its authenticity; for sin produces a godly sorrow that leads not to death, but to redemption and salvation (2 Corinthians 7:10).
