Living Under Kingdom Law?

54

Unless you are twice as old as Methuselah, you were born and raised in the Age of Grace! At Jesus' first coming, We are no longer under the Old Covenant of the Mosaic Law. God has turned from focusing primarily on the Jews to the Gentiles, and today is building His Church, composed of believing Jews and Gentiles. But one day, when Jesus comes the second time, the age of Grace will come to an end, and He will usher in a new age, the Kingdom Age. The kingdom will be definitely be Jewish in nature, as God once again focuses on the Jews. And Jesus Christ will rule over Israel and the nations of this world "with a rod of iron'. What will it be like to live under Kingdom law? Ezekiel 40-48 gives details as to what worship and life will be like during the Kingdom complete with a temple, a priesthood, and animal sacrifices. Will the Kingdom Law be a return to the Mosaic Law? Or will it be a similar, but different set of laws under which we will live? Both Kingdom Law and the Mosaic Law are God's law, and thus we should expect similarities. Jesus, in His sermon on the Mount, expands on the moral laws of the Mosaic covenant, making them applicable for us today. What was sin back in the Old Testament is sin today, and will be sin in the kingdom. But what about the ceremonial laws, the priesthood, and sacrifices? There are certainly similarities between the Kingdom Law and the Mosaic Law. But there are glaring differences and omissions which set the two apart. The biggest omission is that in the Kingdom the very core of the whole Levitical system is missing: The Day of Atonement. All the props necessary are missing, proving they are not the same!
