OF CHRISTIAN LIBERTY AND LIBERTY OF CONSCIENCE Ch21
Series 1689 London Baptist Confession
22
To be bounded by God's promise of salvation through the gospel grants to the believer the greatest freedom from condemnation and alienation from God and the penalties thereof.
- Many in the church today defined liberty as "Do what I want." (The Problem)
- True Christian liberty has been defined by God as freedom from condemnation leading to obedience. (The Correction)
a. Liberty does not remove any boundary.
b. In fact, God has ordained that we submit to authority as a testimony of His grace.
c. Accordingly, our liberty is NOT license but obedience before God.
