The Anointed One’s Preaching, People, and Praise

In Isaiah 61:1–11, we are shown 3 testimonies about the
work of the Messiah and his people.
I. The Messiah testifies: Yahweh has anointed me
with the Holy Spirit (v. 1a, b).

1. To preach the good news of Yahweh's
   favor and judgment (vs. 1c–2b).
2. To transform my people (vs. 2c–7).
   II. Yahweh testifies about what he intends to
   accomplish through the work of his Messiah
   (vs. 8–9).
   III. The Messiah testifies with rejoicing and exaltation
   in Yahweh for empowering his work (vs. 10–11).
