When Jesus tells His disciples that they will all be made to stumble because of Him, Peter swells with pride as he rejects Jesus' words and the Scriptures and exalts himself above the other disciples saying he will never be made to stumble. This becomes a great warning to us to keep our pride in check lest we take a mighty fall.
