Haggai 1 Camp 2014 Talk 2

In Ezra Chapter 4, the enemies of the people of God begin an attack to stop the work of God.

An accusation is made against the people of God by their enemies in the form of letters that were written in the reign of two kings.

Artaxerxes writes a letter back to the enemies and allows them to stop the work at Jerusalem by force.
The people Of God stopped the work because of the opposition.

God had got them back to the land under, a foreign King’s decree.

He gave them a leader Zerubbabel, they'd built the altar, layed the foundation and they willingly financed the work Ezra 3:7 and they praised The Lord for His goodness and mercy.
Unfortunately they stopped the Work because of the Opposition of the Samaritans.
They stopped the building process, forgot about the Lord’s house and began to build their own houses.
The Temple became an UNFINISHED PROJECT.
For around 16 years after they started the Temple lays in ruins.
The foundation that was laid with Joy is now grown over with weeds.
The foundation stood as a reminder every day of their failure to build God’s House.
As we think about the Books of Haggai and Ezra we need to be reminded every Christian is in a battle and we have enemies.
In fact the whole human race is under attack by Satan.
Satan hates God and he hates the pinnacle of God’s creation which is humanity.

Satan hates humanity and he is doing his best to destroy this world.
We live in an evil time in history where the human race is under attack from many angles.
Satan is bent on the destruction of the sons and daughters of this nation and this world.
