Children are born foolish and left to themselves they will remain foolish to their own destruction and to their parents sorrow. The rod is given as a tool of grace by God to drive out this foolishness. But where do we begin and when do we begin? In this lecture Rev. Mahon gives the parents the Big Five – those areas of foolishness which should be driven from the heart of the child by age two. For a child to live in a right relationship with God, the child must live in obedience and honor of his parents.
