Joshua and His God-size Prayer

INTRODUCTION: After the trouble with Ai, Israel needed confirmation that the Lord would fight for them when they were right with Him. Although some of the troubles faced in this lesson came because of Israel’s hasty decision concerning the inhabitants of Gibeon, the Lord showed Himself mighty on Israel’s behalf. Only a gracious God would help His people through the troubles brought upon themselves.

CONCLUSION: The enemies were great in number and mighty in strength. The battle was brought on, in part, because of the nation of Israel’s hasty agreement with the inhabitants of Gibeon. However, in the end, the battle was the Lord’s, the victory would be given to His people, and He deserved all the glory.
