The Resurrection and the Life

Many professional athletes and politicians boast about what they will do on the field or if elected. But bold talk must be proven in life. Jesus has made some very bold claims in the I AM statements in Scripture. He claims to be God in the flesh. But can he back up his claims. The proof, Jesus claims, will be his own bodily resurrection from the dead. In a preview to it, Jesus claims to be the resurrection and the life. As the resurrection, Jesus claims that those who believe in Jesus and die physically will one day be raised to life. As the life, Jesus claims that those who believe in Jesus will never die-- not die physically, but rather, die spiritually. They will never experience the second death, which is separation from God for all eternity. Instead, Jesus gives to his followers eternal life. And Jesus proves that he indeed is the resurrection and the life by raising Lazarus from the dead.
