I see the great king. This shall my song in eternity be. Oh, what a wonder that Jesus loves me. I am so glad that Jesus loves me. Jesus loves me. Jesus loves me. I am so glad that Jesus loves me. Jesus loves me. Amen. If you're glad you saved, say amen. Amen. Praise the Lord. Good to be at church this morning. Amen. And pray the Lord to meet with us this morning and speak to our hearts today. Amen. September 8th. I think that's the nearest we have as far as announcements here. But September 8th, Brother Tony, has talked to the rest of them there, and God will be going in on the second Sunday of each month, starting September 8th at two o'clock, and that'll be at Village Care in King, so if you'd like to be a part of that, get with Brother Tony, but that'll be September 8th, and that'll be at Village Care in King, also again, two o'clock, amen, so pray about that, and if you'd like to help, get with Brother Tony about that, amen. and I know he'd appreciate the help, amen. It'd be a blessing, amen. So pray for that. I think Brother Stormy's preaching, ain't he? You pray for Brother Stormy. He's gonna be preaching the first one. Pray the Lord bless him. And I hope you enjoyed him preaching the other night, amen. You may too, amen. Let me give you this really quickly. Well, let me give you this all set to get done. But then September the 21st, we are doing the baby shower for Ms. Erica. Sorry, Ms. Erica, I'm all tongue-tied this morning, for Ms. Erica this morning. That'd be September 21st from 12 to 3. And then she's her and Rochon are registered there at Amazon. Definitely remember that and then also on October 21st through 25th. Don't forget we got camp meeting coming up then But this next Sunday coming up. That's our next Saturday. It's this Saturday's Turner's Creek, right? This Saturday's concerns Creek Baptist Church's youth youth rally So any young people won't be a part of the youth rally there at Turner's Creek? That's there in Yakon Ville and their service starts at 5 o'clock We're not gonna run the bus for that one. But if you if you would like to go are you going with us? Well, if anybody wants to go and needs to ride from here, if they tell me, I will come here. OK. I got you. But if nobody's coming, I'm not going. You need to tell them, brother, that's what he's saying. I'm driving the bus probably. I will be driving the bus to my house at Turner's Creeps. Right. But if nobody's coming from here, but I'll drive here, but no problem. If one person wants to come, I'll drive here. No problem. I got you. I got you. So if you want to come, yeah, I misunderstood, brother. But if you want to come, On the bus, just let brother Daniel know and we'll figure out what time to have everybody, we'll figure out a time to meet here on Saturday and do all that. And he can figure that out at five o'clock. You mean 415? 415. 415, I got you. Yeah, 415. All right, if you want to ride Saturday, we'll leave. Brother Daniel will leave with the bus, 415, if you want to ride the bus. But you got to let him know, because I'm not going to drive the bus unless we know for sure somebody's coming that week. All right, or this Saturday. And then also next Saturday is Faith Community Baptist Church's Youth Rally. And we want you to be a part of that, young people, adults, and everybody alike. And the same thing for Turner's Creek. I mean, if you're an adult, you want to go there also. Love to have you be a part of either one of them. And Faith and Beauty Baptist Church is about 10 minutes down the road. And man, they're going to have Bro Chris Aislip come preach. The Sisaw family's going to be singing. Brian Poindexter's preaching this Saturday at Turner's Creek Baptist Church. Amen. I'm not sure who's singing. I know they got special singing, but I don't know who's singing. But either way, pray for both those meetings. And young people, if you'd like to go, we'd love to take you. And adults, if you'd like to go, we'd love to take you also. Amen. Just let Brother Daniel know about this Saturday and also let us know about next Saturday. But we'll have the bus here for that one. Amen. Well, let's pray. Pray for those meetings. Pray God bless in a great way. And am I forgetting something? October the 12th, right? October 12th is barbecue chicken fundraiser. That's gonna be actually cooking the chicken and giving it out and all that. So if you already got tickets to help sell for the fundraiser to help young people go to youth camp, help us with that. That'd be a great blessing. If you don't have some, you'd like to get some, Malia has those. And that'll be it. We're gonna do that also, yeah. All right, so today we're gonna have a sign-up sheet in the back. Any young person that is planning on going to youth camp, you need to let us know, all right? If you're planning on going to youth camp, we want you to go. We want you to be a part of it. It's gonna be awesome, and you just let us know. And if you say, bro, John, I ain't talked to you about it, then come talk to me about it. Talk to bro Daniel about it, and we'll figure out how to. We'll make sure everything's good for you to go, all right? So just come talk to us about that, and we'll do that also, amen? Well, I'm gonna do this really quickly, really fast. I've been praying about this, and just felt led this morning. I've been trying to figure out which day to do it, but I feel like this is the day, amen? So we do faith promise at victory. We do faith promise, and we've not done this in a while, a faith promise card. But what we do faith promise is this. The Bible says we're to give tithes and offerings. So we already give God 10%, because that's what the Bible says to do. That's what we're supposed to do. That's scriptural. I mean, we just follow the word of God on that. But the Bible says offerings, says and offerings. That's our missions given. Part of that's our missions given. And the way we do it at church here, our tithes don't cover the missions. We give the missions separately, and our church is doing good with missions. Praise the Lord for that. But we could take on even more people for missions. You'd be surprised how many people we support here at Victory. You'd be surprised at that. We're around 22 missionaries, I believe. I think that's right, 22, 23 missionaries, if I add that up correctly, 22, 23 missionaries out of our church, and that's a blessing. We get to have a part in every single missionary's, what they have going on, sinners getting saved, what all God's doing, where they are and where they're serving, amen? We're thankful for that. But if the Lord lays on your heart, what we're gonna do is we're gonna pass these out, and if you're already given the missions, and you're gonna give this same exact amount that you're already given, just fill it out on here so we know what you're giving, amen? And this is a, and write down, it has it right there, weekly or monthly. You just write down the amount. We're not asking your name. Don't put your name on here. We don't want your name. We just want you to write down what it is. And the only reason we need to know this is so we know how many missionaries we can take on. That's the only reason we need to know. We're not trying to figure out who gives what. We just want to know how many missionaries we can support. And this is just something to say, Lord, this is what I'm going to give to missions to give around the world. Amen. I can't win people to Christ in Africa. I'm not in Africa. I can't win people to Christ over. We got one missionary out there in New Mexico. I can't win people to Christ in New Mexico. I don't live in New Mexico. Amen, I can't win people to Christ in Utah. I can't win people to Christ in all kinds of different places. We got a missionary just come through not long ago. We support his dad and we support him. And they're both going to the Philippines, but we can't go, I can't go to the Philippines. I'm pastoring here in North Carolina, Tobaccoville, North Carolina. I'm not in the Philippines. Amen, but we can support them to go to the Philippines, amen. And man, we can see God use it and do a great work there, amen. They've got to have finances to do it. If not, a lot of missionaries have to come off the field, amen. So anyhow, whatever God lays on your heart, I know he'll bless you for doing. You just trust the Lord and whatever he'd have you give, I know God will bless it and God will honor it. Amen, brother Randy, you grab these people, brother. And now if you get this done before, and if you want to pass it in tonight, you can. All you got to do is tear that paper off. You keep one for yourself to remember what you said, and throw one in the offering plate so we know also. Amen? Miranda, if you'll pass that out, brother. And then, brother Frankie, you might have my brother on his side. Pass these out. Amen. Praise the Lord. Pastor John, I just want to thank the church for the support that y'all He's decided that this is not for him. The information he was given and what he'll be doing is not what he would expect. So I spoke to him as soon as he got off the plane, and he felt like that was not where he was supposed to be. And I just pray that y'all would just be with him, pray for him, help him to get back home because we don't know if it'll be two weeks, two months, when we'll let him come home or how he'll get home. Absolutely. Yes, ma'am. We love y'all, Mr. McMahon. We love y'all. You get to talk to him, you let him know we all love him and don't nobody ever feel like that. We care about him. We care about him and we love him, thank you, ma'am. And we're glad to see him come back. I'm glad to see him, amen. Amen. Praise the Lord. God works in us in different ways, don't he? Let's pray for Brother Reed. I know he'll be discouraged, and you pray that God help him not be so discouraged, and God help him with that, amen. Amen, I don't know about you, but I've made a plenty of mistakes. I'm glad God was right there, amen, right there with me, amen. I thought I was going the right direction. Sometime I figured I was going the wrong direction. I don't know anybody in the whole world that ain't done that, amen. Amen, isn't that thankful? God was there to help you, amen. Let's take time, we're gonna pray for Reed. We're gonna pray for Reed right now. I hate he's so discouraged. We're gonna pray, Lord, help him, amen. Let's pray, Father, Lord, I love you. God, I pray in Jesus' name, God, today, that you'd help Brother Reed, dear God. We love him, God, and we ask him, dear God, in Jesus' name, that you'd help him right now, dear God. God, encourage his heart, Heavenly Father. God, Lord, I pray you'd just comfort his heart, Lord. Father, Lord, as he's made this decision, and a very hard decision. God, very discouraging, dear God, right now in his heart, Lord. God knows a lot of emotions going through his mind and his heart. Don't let him trust in those. Don't let him worry about those. God, let him trust in you and get help from you, Heavenly Father, and draw strength from the Word of God. Draw strength from his prayer life, God. Lord, I pray, dear God, today, God, for every individual. God, Lord, I pray, dear God, you continue to help Brother Randy Wheeler with his cancer treatments, God. I pray, Lord, that with his cancer, Lord, everything will show good. and there would be no more trouble with that, Father. God, that he'd be in remission. God, we'll give you glory for that. God, Lord, I pray. Heavenly Father, bless Sean, Miss Erica's little baby. Lord, I pray, God, that you'll continue to work there. Lord, we want to thank you for answering prayer to an extent you already have. Lord, son there, Father, Lord, we ask you, God, even more, God, that you just continue to help. Lord, we thank you for everybody here at church. Dear God, if I forgot a request, it wasn't on purpose, God, but Lord, please touch and help every individual here. Lord, I pray you'd help Brother Jimmy this morning. I pray you'd help Miss Melissa Collins there in the hospital, dear Heavenly Father, with her kidneys. Lord, I pray, God, you touch every individual. Help Brother John and Miss Amanda as they're gone. God, on vacation, Lord, I pray, God, you just touch our church. God, help us today. God, we love you. You are the best friend we ever had. Nobody like you. There's nobody, absolutely nobody like you, God, in comparison to who you are. God, I pray you'd help us, dear God, as a church to follow the will of God and be the people you want us to be. Lord, I love you and thank you. God, help our choir, help the preaching. God, help everything. Bless the offering. In Jesus' name, amen. Brother Randy, Brother Frank, if y'all gonna help us take up offering, y'all will, amen. I thought we passed out them faith promise cards and probably should have sent them to them young people too, but I'll make sure I say it again next Sunday morning. Because I did mean to say this to them young people, but it don't matter if it's a dollar. If it's a dollar, God will take a dollar and bless it. Amen. I had a widow lady when I was a missionary who supported me for three dollars a month. because that's what she had. And every time I bought a drink, we'll go by a store and buy a soda. I always thought of her every single time I thought she provided for me to build because a lot of times I get tired when I drive. And I stopped and get a soda gets just you know, get down a little further. And 16 hour drive was some of those rides and someone was eight and 10 hours different than that. But You know, when you drive that long, you get tired and wore out. Amen. But anyway, I was always thankful for them $3. Amen. What a blessing. Amen. And I'll tell you, God'll take $3 and use it to be a blessing to a missionary. Amen. Ain't no telling what God will do. Amen. But we're going to take those up tonight. and we'll take them up next Sunday morning, amen? So you just keep that in mind and pray about what the Lord will have you do for faith promise missions given. By the way, if you've got any questions of what faith promise missions given is, you ask me after service, I'll try to explain it to you, all right? But all it is is just separate from tithing, just given toward missions directly, amen? Whatever God puts on your heart there, but again John chapter 1 verse number 43 John 1 verse 43 Bible said the day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee and find a Philip and Sayeth unto him follow me Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. It said, Philip findeth Nathanael and saith unto him, we have found him, of whom Moses and the law and the prophets did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. And by the way, let me take time out and say this just in case I forget to preach it here in a minute, but when he says son of Joseph, they don't really know at this point who he is. The Bible is not making a doctrinal statement that Jesus was not God Almighty in the flesh here or that he was not the Son of God. In fact, Nathanael says later in his verses that he is a Son of God. Amen? But he's just, they're just telling you what, Philip's just saying what he knows. All I know is According to flesh, he's a son of Joseph. He finds out later on, he's more than that, amen? But he didn't know that, amen? He didn't come from Joseph. He come from the Father God in heaven, amen? Joseph's just his earthly stepdaddy. God in heaven's his real father, amen? I thought I'd throw that out there to you. He's just telling what he knows. That's all he knows for the moment. He gets figured out later, he finds out who Jesus is, amen? But verse 46, Nathanael said unto him, can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, come and see. That's a good answer, amen. Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him and saith of him, behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile. Nathanael saith unto him, whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel. Jesus answered and said unto him, because I said unto thee I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou, thou shalt see greater things than these. and he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, hereafter you shall see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man. Lord, help us. We looked at last Sunday morning on the convincing of the first five disciples. And I'm just gonna continue along that same line this morning. Amen, the convincing of the first five disciples. We've seen how John preached. and told them, behold the Lamb of God. And that two disciples followed him, one of them was John the disciple, and one of them ends up being Andrew. Andrew goes and finds Peter, so he's been three disciples already. And then we find in this text, we find Philip and Nathaniel. So it's five, five different disciples that find out who Jesus is, amen. And they're convinced that he's the one they've been looking for, amen. Let's pray and ask the Lord to help us. Father, I love you. God, I pray you'd just help us this morning, God. I pray you'd bind every demon and devil of hell. I plead that you would just meet with us and the sweet spirit of God and the power of God would be so present here this morning. God, I don't need what I have. I've seen what I can produce and it's not much. God of anything at all, Lord, I know that. God, Lord, I know what you can produce, I've seen you. Seen you produce great things in the lives of people. And I pray, dear God, you'd help me to preach. God, give me a Holy Ghost unction this morning. God, Lord, I pray, God, you would help us all be Holy Ghost hearers. And God, change us before we leave. In Jesus' name, amen. Again, the convincing. of the first five disciples. This is not when he calls them to be his disciples. That happens later in the scripture, but right here, they're convinced that he's the Messiah. They all of a sudden get convinced that he's the one they've been looking for. Because if you know the Old Testament, the Old Testament tells us he'd be born in Bethlehem, according to Micah 5 and verse 2. You know where he got born? Bethlehem. Amen. The Bible tells us that all them different things about him, that when he'd come, he'd ride a donkey. He rode a donkey later on into Jerusalem. The Bible tells us a lot of different things about him in the Old Testament, and then he proves them to be true in the New Testament. So that's controllable. I'll tell you a couple that are not controllable. Hey, one is this. He couldn't decide who he was crucified beside of. He couldn't decide that, but the Bible tells us. He'd be amongst thieves. He'd be amongst people that were wicked. He was. He could have accidentally been placed beside somebody that was guilty, but both these men were guilty. And they were not not guilty, they were guilty of what they had done, amen. Hey listen, the Bible said that he would be buried with the rich, amen, over in Isaiah 53. He can't control that, that had to be done by God, amen. And I'll tell you the greatest one that could not have been done by him, could not have been done by man, had to be done by God, he got up on the third day, amen. Now, Thaddeus don't know all the rest of them, but he knows enough to know this is him. Philip don't know enough to know all the rest of those at this moment that he's fulfilled, because they haven't fulfilled them yet, but he knows enough to know this is him. Amen. So, I want to look at, first of all, the first one he convinces again is Philip. Philip. Look at verse number 43. The Bible said the day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip. Now listen, if you're finding something, that's not really an accident. I know you can find something by accident, but I don't truly believe Jesus is doing this by accident. I believe he's got a purpose in mind for Philip's life, amen. But I wrote this down, there was a pause in the path. Look at verse 43, the day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee. So his desire is to go into Galilee. That's where Jesus desires to go. And chapter number two, verse one, you find he made it. Bible said the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there, and both Jesus was called and his disciples to the marriage. By the way, if you're gonna invite somebody into your marriage, Jesus would be a good one to invite into your marriage, amen. Amen. But listen, they're finding these verses, he goes to Galilee, he wants to go to Galilee, but in the midst of wanting to go to Galilee and getting to Galilee, he does something in two people's lives, amen. But I'll tell you this, I got thinking, we all the time, you ever heard anybody say, well, I'm just so busy, I ain't got time to do that. I'm so busy, I ain't got time to do this. I'm so busy, I ain't got time to do that. Listen, I hear that all the time about church. I'm so busy, I'm just so busy, I'm so busy. If you're too busy to hear from God, you're too busy, amen. Hey, you need something from the Lord, amen. Hey, listen, I'm telling you, if you say, I've heard people say, not just about church, about prayer. I'm too busy to pray. If you're too busy to pray, you're too busy. If you're too busy to read your Bible, you're too busy, amen. Well listen, if anybody had ever been busy, Jesus was busy. If anybody, when you got saved, was busy, Jesus was busy. In fact, the Bible said in Hebrews 1 that by him all things consist. You know what the word consist means? It means held together. It means held in place. Put where it's supposed to be. Hey listen, held together to where there's not chaos. You know why there's not chaos? Because Jesus is holding all things together. You know why everything's rotating around the solar system like it is? And it's not like playing pool and, man, they're hitting the black ball and the red ball and the yellow ball and busting all over the place. I tell you why it's not happening. There's somebody that's got it consisting. Amen. Wouldn't you hate to be driving a bus or riding in a bus that didn't have no driver, that was driving about 600 miles an hour. Hey, listen, I tell you, we live in a day that the atheist wants to believe nobody's at the wheel, but that sure be a scary thing, that nobody was at the wheel. I'm glad somebody is at the wheel of life, amen. Amen, Jesus is busy, but I tell you what happened when you got to an altar and said, I need to be saved, or you prayed in your house or prayed wherever you was at in your car or wherever it took place, and you asked Christ to forgive you of your sin, you know what he did? He paused the path, amen. He just said, you know what? I believe I'm gonna do something in their life, amen. I'm really busy, but I'm gonna take time out of all of my busyness and help them. Amen, amen. There was a pause in the path. Not only that, there was a preparation in the response. Look at verse 43 again. Bible said the day following, Jesus would go forth into Galilee and findeth Philip, saith unto him, follow me. And now Philip was of Isaiah to the city of Andrew, and Peter, Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, we have found him. Listen, it's amazing. Philip doesn't take time to really learn nothing. I mean, Jesus didn't even quote scripture to him. I mean, think about what we just read. He just walks by and says, follow me. And Phillip gets so excited about it and so convinced he runs and tells Nathaniel immediately. I mean, he don't even waste a moment. He starts to follow him and then he goes and tells somebody. And can I tell you this? You ought to go tell somebody after you start following him, amen. You ought to tell somebody about the Lord Jesus when you start following him, amen. We all should, amen. But listen here, let me give you some things I had not seen before. Maybe it helped you this morning. Philip is found, first let me say this, he's found by Jesus. Jesus finds Philip, amen. Jesus finds Philip. And you say, what do you mean by that? I mean this, we talked about how John had preached, John the Baptist had preached, and John and Andrew found out who Jesus was. We talked about Andrew finding Peter, and Peter found out who Jesus was. But here, Peter, Andrew's not telling Philip. Andrew's not the one saying it. We don't know who told him, but evidently somebody told him who he was. I'll just give you that in a minute, but Andrew and John the Baptist have been telling somebody, and God worked. Two people got in because John the Baptist. One got in because of Andrew. But then Jesus goes himself and finds Philip by himself. And listen, can I tell you this? I believe the Lord can find you where you're at. Amen. But can I say this? Even though John the Baptist wasn't the one preaching, God was the one looking. Jesus was the one searching him out. Listen, you say, well, John went to a church service, God dealt my heart during the preaching of the word of God, or maybe a grandma or a mama or somebody shared the gospel with you, and you end up getting saved. Can I tell you what that was? It wasn't your mama, it wasn't your grandma, it wasn't the preacher, it was the God of heaven dealing with your heart and bringing you to a place of salvation. Even though Philip here is being led directly by Jesus to follow him, all of them had been led directly. Maybe not the exact same way, but all of them had been influenced, not by John, not by Andrew, by God. God had worked in their heart. Look at verse 43 again. Verse 43. There's a response, but then we find out this, there's a possibility in that response. Let me just give you this quickly, verse 44, now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. So now, Philip is from the same place. Andrew and Peter are from. Let the Lord just make sure that's in there. He wants you to know this place that Philip's from is where Andrew and Peter are from. They're both in the same spot. Amen. Well, who knows if Andrew and Peter have not come. I'm just giving you a for instance. You can take it for what it's worth. I don't know how he got so responsive so quickly and just said, yes, sir, I'll follow you and let me go get my friend. Amen. He was excited because he knew it was him. We don't find the Bible doesn't tell us that Andrew told him. The Bible doesn't say that Peter told him, but the Bible does make it clear that he was in the same spot that Andrew and Peter were in. So it makes you wonder, why'd he respond so quickly? He could have responded so quickly, because Andrew done told him. Peter done told him. And when he said, follow me, he said, yes, sir, I sure will. Amen. What about you, Banks, bad somebody told you? Listen to this, not only the possibility, again that's just a possibility, but I'll tell you one we do know. We know the Word of God was involved in his belief of him. Verse 45, because when Philip finds Nathanael, the Bible said, Philip found Nathanael and saith unto him, we have found him, of whom Moses and the law and the prophets did write. Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. Listen, he said this, he said, we have found him. How do you know you found him? Of whom Moses and the law and the prophets did write. You know what he depended on? He depended on the word of God, amen. I'll give you something I hadn't seen before, but I'm gonna tell you there are a lot of people who are trusting in miracles, in dreams, in visions, in a lot of stuff that man God is not speaking in in our day and time, but he is speaking through his word, amen. Hey, John 2 and verse number 11, listen to what it said, John 2 and verse 11. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee and manifested forth His glory and His disciples believed on Him. Can't tell you as I read this verse, there's a lot of people who are waiting on a miracle and God's already given them His Word. God doesn't need to give you a miracle if he's already give you his word. Nathaniel doesn't have a miracle to go by. John chapter two, water turned into wine, and by the way, that's grape juice unfermented, amen. We'll take time when we get to it to hit on that. But I'm telling you, the fact is this, that when that miracle took place, that was the first miracle that Jesus had done according to that verse. They had no miracle to go on, had nothing to go by, but the word of God, and they said that is, That's Him. We found Him. That's Him. That's Him. Amen, brother Franklin. That's Him. Listen, that is absolutely the One. That is the Messiah. This is the Christ. That's Him. So we don't know for sure about whether Andrew and Peter told Him, but we do know the Word of God had a lot to do with his belief in Him. I tell you, the Word of God has a lot to do with my belief in Him. Amen, in fact, I wouldn't even know there was a hell had I not had a Bible. Would you? I wouldn't know there was a heaven to go to had I not had a Bible to tell me about a heaven to go to. I wouldn't know Jesus Christ died for my sin, buried and rose again on the third day so I could be forgiven and be saved and you would not neither had you not had a Bible to tell you about it, amen. There had to be a Bible. Ain't you glad God allowed you to have a Bible? He could let you go to hell without any hope and left you no Bible, but he gave you grace and mercy and allowed you to have a Bible to know where you'd go. Amen. I'm telling you, the finding of Philip, you find there's precepts involved, there's possibility involved. I'll just give you this quickly. Calvary hadn't took place either. Now, when I got saved, you know what was a big convicting thing for me that brought me to know he loved me? The resurrection. In fact, the Holy Ghost was dealing with me. I'm not saying that they didn't get saved just as good as we did. I believe they did. They didn't have the cross and the resurrection yet, though. But all they had was the book. That means this book is enough to go by. This Bible's enough to lean on. I mean, this Bible's enough to depend on with your life, amen. They didn't have Calvary to look at. They didn't have no miracle to look at. All they had was the Bible. And the Bible was enough to know He was the one. Amen. That wasn't enough to get you to heaven. Jesus had to die and pay for your sin. Jesus had to resurrect because a dead Savior can't save anybody. Amen. He had to take the blood and put it on the mercy seat so the wrath of God was appeased. Amen. All that had to take place or you would not be saved this morning. I know that. You know that. But I'm telling you, all the point I'm trying to make is this. All they had was the Bible to go by to decide whether he was the Messiah. But they knew their Bible and they said, boy, I tell you, that's him. That's him. They depended on the word of God. Can I ask you this morning, do you depend on the Bible? Do you depend on your Bible? Do you go through struggles, do you get in your Bible or do you just stay out of your Bible? We can decide, we can really determine whether we really got a dependence on it or not. Because most people, they go through trouble, they get out of their Bible. A lot of people, they go through trouble, they quit praying. What you need is not less Bible, you need more Bible when you go through trouble. What you need when you're going through trouble is not less prayer, but more prayer when you're going through trouble. Listen, I need more of God, not less of God. I need more of his word, amen. They depended, their life, their actions, their belief, all depended on the word of God. Not only he find Philip, but then that's what the Bible said in verse 45. And I'll be done here in a moment. I'll give you this quickly. Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him. Let me say this. Some say Philip and Nathanael were brothers. But we really don't know that. A lot of writers that want to make them brothers, I can't really say that's for sure. I mean, we can't really prove that. But I will tell you this. Whether they were brothers or whether they was friends, you really ought to tell family and friends about Jesus. Amen? Or tell family and friends about the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Everybody needs to know about him. Everybody needs to know how to be saved. And can I tell you this? I'm not responsible for everybody getting saved. I'm just responsible for telling everybody how to be saved. Amen. I'm just responsible to tell it. Go into all the world and preach the gospel. Not my responsibility for results. Just my responsibility to go tell. I'll just repeat that from last Sunday, but that's the truth, amen. It's our responsibility to go and say to some sinner what Jesus Christ did for them, but it's not my responsibility to make them get saved. That's the work of God, amen. I say that because a lot of people say, I'm not gonna go, people don't listen no more. People reject it at the door now. Well, Jesus didn't, it doesn't change the truth of the command. The commission is still a great commission, it's still a great commission. Go into all the world and preach the gospel, period, amen. Whether they accept it, whether they reject it, whether they love it, whether they hate it, tell it, tell it. Listen, some say Phil Nathaniel brothers, we don't know that, like I said. They could have been family, they could have been friends, but like I said, you ought to tell everybody. You find a word Nathaniel, it's only found in the book of John, it's not found in any other gospel. Every other gospel, we believe that the same man is called Bartholomew. Bartholomew. Because every time you find him, like Matthew chapter 10 and verse 3, you find it says Philip and Bartholomew. And then I ain't got time to give you the rest of the verses, but over and over and over again in the book of Matthew and Luke, I believe it is, it says Philip and Bartholomew. Philip and Bartholomew. And it doesn't ever use the name Nathaniel, so most people just kind of deduce, I guess, that that is probably the same individual. Amen! And they're always mentioned together. I ain't got time to preach all this, but I'll tell you this, go do this when you go home. Go to Matthew 10 when you get home in verse 2, and look at the disciples in 2 and 3, and they're always put in twos. Andrew and Peter, Philip and Bartholomew, and over and over and over again, all of them are named by twos. Well, didn't he tell them to go out two by two? It's almost like he just put them together, said these two are soul winners. These are the ones who go visit together. These are the ones who go tell people about the Lord together. They go talk to everybody about me together. These are the partners. Amen, I thought that was pretty interesting. Go back and look at that sometime. But not only that, Jesus found Philip, listen to this, before Philip found him. Amen. I know that ain't deep this morning, but it sure is good, amen. Look at verse 45. Philip found Nathanael. What'd he say? And saith unto him, we have found him. Philip said, I found him. I got news for Philip. Philip didn't find him first. Look at verse 43. Bible said in the day following, Jesus would go forth into Galilee and findeth Philip. So Jesus found Philip before Philip found Jesus, amen. Can I tell you that same thing happened when you got saved? You said, brother John, I went searching after figuring out who he was. Yeah, but the Holy Ghost had put that in you to want to search after him in the first place, amen. Holy Ghost had opened up your blinded eyes, had your blinded heart of your need of him. And when you found him, listen, he'd already found you before you ever found him. Amen. Thank God for the grace of God that sought me and you out before we ever sought him out. Y'all heard me tell my testimony before, and I won't tell the whole thing, but I'll tell you this part of it. When I got saved, I was not looking to get saved. I went to that meeting mad. I went for go-karts and pizza and had preaching. I thought, man, what a sorry way to trick somebody. I was too far away from home to go home, and I was too broke as a teenager to get home. Amen. Y'all been broke teenagers before, too, ain't you? But anyway, I didn't have no money to go back to the house. And it bothered me so bad, and I was so angry. I thought, why in the world would you do this to somebody? Why in the world would you do this to somebody? Because she loved me. Amen. Mama loved me. Amen. She always says, I don't remember not telling you there wasn't no preaching. I said, I guess the Holy Ghost let you leave that out on accident. I don't know. But either way, I didn't. I just didn't. I didn't even know he was going to have it. I got down there, got all mad and angry and upset. Holy Ghost of God, that first message preacher got to preaching, he got to naming all the sins I'd been committing and how bad I needed God. I felt like he just had me in a room preaching to me and talking to me and telling me what all I needed and I kept thinking, I don't need this, I don't need this. Leave me alone, just hush! Preached for an hour and a half, I timed him. I thought, man, if a man can't get what he's gotta say, say it. An hour and a half, just sit down! That's about how I felt. I was mad. I didn't want it. I'm just being honest with you. I didn't want him. I think I did, but I didn't. I don't know how to even explain that. Amen. I wouldn't even admit that to myself. I needed him. I knew I did, but I wouldn't even admit it. I don't know how to even explain that, Brother Mickey, but it's true. That second day, though, God got the deal in my heart that next morning. And I don't know how to explain it, but I did go searching for Him after that. I said, boy, I believe I might need Him. Then it won't be out today. I said, boy, I know I need Him, amen. Then about 6 o'clock that evening, I said, I know, without a doubt, I need Him. I said, Lord, save me, amen. But before I ever sought after Him, He'd already been seeking after me. I didn't even want Him. Didn't want nothing to do with Him. but he went to dealing with me and working with me, amen. Ain't you glad when you wasn't looking for God, when you wasn't thinking about God, when God wasn't even on your mind, when God wasn't even on your mind, and you saw God's mind, and he wanted you and loved you and searched after you, and then finally when you decided to search after him, he wanted you. Amen. Listen, I didn't do the first searching. He did the first searching. You didn't search for him first. He was searching before you ever even got started. Amen. Hallelujah. Amen. Ah, Jesus found Philip before Philip found Jesus. Amen. Listen to this, not only that, but Philip gave the right answer in verse 46. You say, brother John, I don't know what to tell people when they say, well, what a word can't get his wife? Just come and say amen. I don't know what to tell them when they say what happened. Why does the book of Revelation say this? Come and see. I don't know what to tell you. I don't know what answer to give you. I don't know about certain doctrines. I don't know what all to tell them. Well, that's what the Bible said. Philip don't know a whole lot. He just has met him. He knows the Bible talks about him. He knows this is him, but he don't know all of it. Here's what the Bible said. And Nathanael said unto him, can there anything good come out of Nazareth? We really don't know why Nazareth is spoken bad of here. The Bible doesn't really tell us. Ain't no reason to speak on something the Bible don't tell you. I've read where writers are trying to say, well, they were bad people. Some writers say, well, they were people that, a very small town, or they were this, they were that. I don't really know what they were. And I don't think we can really speak on something we don't know about, but for whatever reason, Nathanael doesn't think Jesus ought to come from there, but he does, amen. He does come from there, amen. He actually came from Bethlehem, that's where he's born at. But then he went through Nazareth, led by God. But the Bible said that can there anything good come out of Nazareth? Philip doesn't argue with him. He say, oh yeah he does, yes he does, he comes out of Nazareth. He say, don't you know, man just listen to me. Got a good argument for you. And what he does, he's not arguing with him. He said come and see, hey just come and see. Come and see if he is anything good come out of Nazareth or not. Philip's convinced, you can't unconvince Philip. He knows he's who he said he was, amen. And can I tell you, I can't be unconvinced this morning. I believe he is who he said he was. If you're saved this morning, you can't be unconvinced of what you already believe, amen. Heard people say all my life, so people get fooled into believing that Jesus Christ is not God and all the rest, have you ever believed that? You've never been saved in the first place. Amen. You never got saved, period. Period. Not ever, ever happened. Not one time has it ever took place. Amen. Because somebody that's been saved ain't unconvinced. Amen. You don't get unsaved, unconvinced, and by the way, the Bible says, salvation not to be repented of. If you ever get a holt of it, you ain't gonna want to get rid of it. Amen. You get saved, you'll never get rid of that. Why would you ever want to be unsaved after you get saved? Hey man, I met a man not long ago and I'm not mad at him and he might even listen to service this morning. I sure ain't mad at him. But he said, I believe that you can choose to get rid of salvation by your own free will just as you chose by your free will to get it. I said, well, the Bible says. By the way, that's what matters. Amen, salvation not to be repented of. You know what that means is this? It means this. If I got saved, I'm never gonna wanna not to be saved. Amen. If you ever got truly born again, there's never gonna be a day that you don't want to be born again. Amen. If you ever got forgiveness, there's not gonna be a day that you did not want to be forgiven. Think how dumb that sounds. I'm not talking bad about nobody, but I'm just telling you the statement is dumb. Why would anybody forgiven say, I'm just kind of sick and tired of being forgiven. I'd just rather go under being condemned again. I'm just kind of sick of it. I wish God would just hold my sins over me again. I'm just kind of sick of being forgiven. How crazy is that? I get to go to heaven when I die, but I tell you what, I'd just as soon go to hell. Who's gonna say that? Who's gonna ever say that? I know that simple as all get out, but it's true. Ain't nobody gonna say that. Ain't nobody gonna say, well, I've decided I don't wanna go to heaven, and now I'm just gonna go to hell. Ain't nobody's gonna say I'm just sick and tired of being forgiven. I'd just rather be condemned. Nobody wants that. Nobody wants to get rid of salvation. If you ever got it, you ain't never gonna wanna leave it. Listen, you might got something at Christmas that you didn't like and you took the next day to go get your money back. But ain't nobody ever got saved wanting to take it back. Not ever. Nobody has ever wanted to take back their salvation. Amen. Listen to this. He gave them the right answer. I just wrote this down. This is simple. Man, you hear the world say nobody cares about me. Come and see. Amen. Nobody cares. Come and see. He said, Preacher, I've gone too far. Come and see. He said, Preacher, I'm so lost. There's no way in the world God won't come and see. Come and see. Come and see. Come and see. Amen. So I don't know all the doctrines, preacher, and I don't know all the verses. Hey, listen, you might not know it all this morning. Join the crowd, I don't either. But I will tell you this, what I can say, hey, listen, if you're lost or somebody's lost, you know, hey, say, come on and sing. Hey, come and sing. Hey, he's got an open invitation. Hey, come and sing. By the way, that's one reason why, as I was reading through it anyway, I thought, well, man, Peter could have told him. Andrew could have told him. I lean more toward Andrew could have told him. You say, why? Because when he asked Jesus, he said, where dwellest thou? What'd he say? Come and see. He's repeating what Jesus said. Except Philip hadn't heard Jesus say that. Not personally. So it makes you wonder whether Andrew did tell him. Say, come and see. And if he did, let me take time out and say if he did, he done found out that Jesus had an open invitation. And he's letting Nathaniel know, this Jesus has got an open invitation for anybody who wants to come. Hey, come on, Nathaniel. Hey, just come and see it. If you could just see him, you'd be convinced of who he is. Amen. Bless his name. Amen. Let me say this. Philip gave the right answer, but also Nathaniel. I said there's a finding of Nathaniel who looked at all that, but then we find Nathaniel actually meets Jesus right here in verse 47. There's going to be a day, me and you get to do that. Amen. I met Him down here when I got saved, not physically by the eyes of my flesh, but I met Him at Cal. I mean, I met Him. I know Him. He knows me. I've been saved. You've been saved. You've been saved and redeemed and bought, and He knows you, and you know Him. Amen. Listen, we find that Nathanael meets Jesus, verse 47. Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and saith of him, Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no cow. Can I say this? When he meets him, he knew his genealogy. He said, what do you mean? Well, the Bible said, behold, an Israelite indeed. He said, you are for sure an Israelite. I know your family. I know your daddy. I know your mama. I know your grandma. I know your grandpa. I know your mama's grandma and grandpa. I know both sides. I know all the way back. I know all about you, Nathanael. And I know your genealogy. I know who you are. I know how you got here. I know that you're an Israelite indeed. He amazes Nathanael right off the bat. I know you. I know you're an Israelite. And they said this. He said in whom is no guile. He's not telling him he's not sinful. That ain't what he's saying. Because everybody's sinful. For all sin that comes short of the glory. He's not saying you're not a sinner. That ain't what he's saying. What guile means is this. It means a person of trickery and a person that's insincere. But what he's telling Nathaniel is you are a very sincere person. You're a very truthful person. You are somebody who's trying to be deceitful or tricky. You are convinced. You have to be convinced. He's there to convince him, amen. But listen to this. He knew his genealogy. He knew his heart. Listen, right when he meets him, he lets him know, I know how you are. I know who, where you came from, and I know your very heart. I know all about you. Amen. And can I tell you, when you got saved, God knew your heart. God knew everything there was to know about you. And if you're like I am, I'm amazed that he knew all that about me and he still loved me anyway. I had a lot of faults, I got a lot of failures, still have a lot of faults, a lot of failure, but he loves me anyway. Amen. Thank you, Lord. Ain't you glad of that? So he was a sincere person. Not only that, but he knew him and saw him. Jesus knew Nathanael and saw him before Nathanael knew him or saw him. This is what the Bible said. This is simple, but I need to help you, amen. Verse number 47, Jesus saw Nathanael. But then the Bible said in verse 48, that ain't the first time he'd seen Nathanael. When he saw Nathanael, it wasn't the first time he'd seen Nathanael. I'm trying to be clear, I'm just kidding. I'm just telling you, that's not clear speaking, but it's truth, amen. Hey, listen to this. Jesus saw Nathanael, look at verse 48. Nathanael saith unto him, whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said to him, before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee, amen. He said, man, I done been looking at you. I know you, Nathanael. I know where you was sitting. I saw you when Philip went and got you. I knew all about you. God, Jesus was showing himself to be God in the flesh. Cause he could be standing over there in one place and his eyes looking in another place. Amen. Amen. Ain't that amazing? God's omnipresent. He's omniscient. He tells him he knows everything there is to know about him. And he's omnipresent. He could be over there and right here at the exact same time. Amen, you should explain all that. I just did the best of my ability, amen. He's an amazing God. Listen to this, Nathanael meets the Lord. He knew him and saw him before Nathanael knew him or saw him. Not only that, but Nathanael is convinced in verse number 49. Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the King of Israel. You find out later on the word rabbi means master. Master. What it means is master teacher. It means somebody who is the best teacher. So here, Nathanael's just met him, but Nathanael's just been showed that this Jesus knows his heart, and that Jesus Christ not only knows his heart, but he saw him before he ever even got to him. And then Nathanael says, you know what? I believe I'm ready to learn. I'm ready to sit at your feet and learn what you got to tell me. I'm ready to humble and repent, and here I am, here I am, here I am lowly and humble. Teach me, master, teach me. Amen. I tell you, if you come to God that way, he'll teach you something. First of all, if you come that way, he'll save you, amen. He don't save anybody that doesn't come to him humbly. If you come to him pridefully, you won't get saved, amen. It'll never happen. I'll tell you this, I've heard people say this, well I got saved and I was worthy to be saved. Then you've never been saved. Because if a person never got to the place they realized they wasn't worthy to be saved, they've never got saved. It's never happened. You got to come to a place of humility and then get saved, amen. Place of repentance, amen. It's gotta happen, amen. Bible's clear. Repent, you didn't believe the gospel. It's got to happen. Or somebody won't get saved. Listen to this, he's convinced of him being the master He's also convinced of Him being the Son of God. Look at verse 49. He said, why is he saying all this? Jesus ain't said all this to him yet. Yeah, but he knows the Old Testament, and he knows what the Old Testament declared that the Messiah would be. The Old Testament declared he would be God, amen. In fact, Isaiah nine, verse number six, it said that he would be, that the son would be given, and one of the names he gives him, he gives him a couple wonderful counselor, but then he gives that next one. He says the mighty God, amen. That's not accidentally put in there. And I believe, oh, oh, oh, Nathaniel's got that in his head. He said, oh man, I remember Isaiah 9 and verse 6. If you're him, then you are the son of God. If you're him, then you're very deity. You're God almighty, amen. Nathaniel's convinced of him being a teacher. Nathaniel's convinced of him being God. But Nathaniel's convinced of him being the king of Israel. He knows them Old Testament prophecies. that the Messiah at some point is gonna set up his rule and reign on the New Jerusalem. Amen. And we're gonna be his subjects forever and ever and ever. Amen. I say hallelujah. Amen. Nathaniel knows that this is the king, this is the one gonna set up his rulership. Amen. Oh my, amen. Ain't enough time to preach everything I'm thinking. But anyway, verse number 50. Verse number 50, Jesus answered and said unto him, because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou, thou shalt see greater things than these. You know what he told him in old Redneck, Tobaccoville, all these areas around here, terms? You ain't seen nothing yet. You ain't seen nothing yet, man. You think this is good? You think me knowing your name and you think me knowing where you was and you think me knowing your genealogy and your hearts, you think that's a big deal? Son, you ain't seen nothing yet. He let the thing know, boy, you ain't seen nothing. Can't tell you when you got saved and I got saved, I thought, man, I ain't going to hell no more. Praise God for not going to hell when I die. Hallelujah for getting to go to heaven. But there's so much more attached to that than that. That's not all of it. I got a friend that stick it closer than a brother. I got the Holy Ghost as my comforter. I got the Holy Ghost leading me as I read my Bible. And you do too, amen. In the darkest midnight of our lives, We got somebody to show up present in our lives and give us strength to make it. I'm telling you, there's way more than we thought there was, amen. I could hear somebody say, Nathan, you thought that was good. He said, wait till he dies for you. Amen. You thought him knowing that was good. Wait till he dies on a cross for your sin, Nathaniel, because he loves you, amen. And then wait until three days later and that same Jesus gets up out of the grave, Nathaniel. You ain't seen nothing yet. You ain't seen nothing yet. He believes because of that in the very next chapter, they go to the King of Galilee and find that Jesus miraculously takes water and turns it into unfermented wine, amen. What an amazing savior, amen. Amazing. Chapter four, he saves a woman at the well. Chapter five, he raises a man that's been on a bed for 38 years and could not get up. He says, rise, take up thy bed, and walk, amen. And he did, amen. Chapter number six, there's 5,000 hungry people ready to eat and ain't got no food. And man, they don't know how in the world they're gonna feed them. And Jesus takes five loaves and two small fish and feeds the entire multitude and has 12 baskets left over after it's all said and done, amen. And chapter number eight, there's a woman caught in a dog trap and Jesus gives her forgiveness, amen. And John chapter number nine, there's a man that's born blind and Jesus heals his blindness. Hallelujah. John 11, he raises liars from the dead, amen. And Nathanael, you ain't seen nothing yet. You ain't seen absolutely nothing yet, amen. And John 19, he dies on a cross, sheds his blood for poor, dirty, lost, hell-bound sinners. And John 20, he gets up, amen. He gets up, amen. Nathanael, you ain't seen nothing yet. You ain't seen nothing yet. That night you got saved, you thought you saw a lot of it. You wait till you go to heaven, you ain't seen nothing yet. And you wait till we get there with him, you ain't seen nothing yet. The Bible says it's gonna take, and Ephesians 2, it says it's gonna take the exceeding ages to come to explain to us the grace of God. If it takes them exceeding ages to explain one word, I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of them too, amen. Hey, explain mercy to me. Explain love to me, amen. I want to know it all, amen. I say hallelujah. Nathanael and us, we ain't seen nothing yet. Verse 51, I'm done. Malia, if you'll come on piano. I'm done. Verse number 51. I'll give you a sign through. Bible said, and he saith unto him, verily, verily. By the way, that word verily, verily, that word verily just means truth. It means truly, truly. Same thing as truly, truly. It means this is the truth. He's double telling you. He's letting you know 100% this is true. This is true. And I don't know if Nathaniel had been, it makes you wonder sometimes you read stuff like this and Jesus just kinda says something right out in the middle of somewhere and you're like, well, where'd that come from? Why'd you say that for? Makes you wonder, he had the ability to read people's minds. I don't think anything in our Bible is out of place. So I just wondered, why do you say that right here? Brother Tony, was Philip, had he been reading on this? About Jacob's dream and the ladder? Nathaniel been reading on this while he's under that fig tree? Is that what's been going on and now he's telling him who this is? What's the ladder all about? Well he said, let me tell you what the ladder's all about. I mean, I don't know. I don't know how it's happening, but I know what he tells them here. Listen to what the Bible says. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man. So now you find that Jesus is telling him that this is the truth. Heaven's going to be opened after this. Angels are going to ascend and descend upon the Son of Man. You say, where do we find that in the Bible? Listen to Genesis 28. Genesis chapter 28 and listen to verse number 12. Genesis 28 and verse 12. Here's what the Bible said. It's talking about Jacob. He's laying down. He's went to sleep. He's dreaming. Verse 12, and he dreamed. And behold, a ladder set up on the earth. So first of all, that ladder touches earth. And the top of it reached to heaven. That ladder touched heaven. Ladder touched earth, and ladder touched heaven. You say, what are you saying by that? I'm saying he's the God-man. He's God Almighty, but he came down to make a way. Amen. A ladder tells you there's a way up. Amen. Except it ain't by effort. It's by the one who came. Amen. But it said, reach to heaven, said, behold, the angels of God ascending and descending on it. Ain't that exactly what he just got done saying? That the angels of God would be ascending and descending upon the Son of Man. By the way, it said the Son of Man. I can't got time to preach all this, but it said the Son of Man. You know what, most of the time when you find the word Son of Man, and Jesus uses that a lot, he always usually puts that little statement in there, the Son of Man. You know why? Because he's the man like no other man. He's the man, Christ Jesus. He's the man, Christ Jesus. Amen. The son of man. I'm done right here, but I'll give you this. He said, why does it say angels are ascending and descending? Because they did. At his birth, at his birth, angels show up to tell of what the Lord, that the Lord's come to this earth to save sinners. Then he goes to be tempted in Matthew chapter four, and after the devil leaves him, angels show up and minister unto him, amen. And then over there in Gethsemane, as he prays, you find there was angels present at Gethsemane, amen. You find that Jesus said this to his disciples, and they began to wanna fight to make sure he didn't die on the cross. Peter was upset about it, all of them was upset about it. He said, don't you know that any old point in time, I can call 12,000 legions of angels, don't you know I can call 12 legions of angels down? to save me from this fate. I'm just paraphrasing. But I'm telling you, that's the way he's telling me, I could call him down any moment. So angels are present at the cross, waiting on the command of the commander. And let me take time out and say this, ain't you glad the commander did not say, yes, please come get these nails out of my hands. Yes, please come get this nail out of my foot. Yes, these people are not worth it. And I am not dying like this for sinners like they are. Ain't you glad he didn't do that? By the way, he didn't really even have to have the angels. He could have done it himself. But then at the resurrection, Jesus died. Three days later, God up. When they come to find him, at the tomb, stone had been rolled away by an angel. Listen, the Bible says he wasn't in there. And when they come to see him, they go to look where the Lord lay, and there sits an angel. Amen. They say, why look ye among the... Why are you looking among the dead for the living? You can't do that. Hey, listen, he's alive. Go look somewhere else. He's alive. Go look somewhere else. Why seek ye the living among the dead? Go look somewhere else. He's alive. He's alive. Amen. If you'll stand to your feet, eyes closed, head bowed, God spoke to your heart in any way.
