Was Jesus Really Tempted?

Did Jesus feel the weight of temptation the way I feel the weight of temptation? Yes and no. Jesus was truly tempted to fullest extent, he experienced as much temptation as Adam experienced, and even more (since Adam failed). But the way Jesus experienced temptation differs in one distinct way from our experience.

In this sermon we consider the three temptations described in the gospel of Luke alongside the question of the nature of Jesus' experience of temptation.
