The Seed of the Woman

The writer of Hebrews urges us to 'Consider Jesus,' and we will be doing just that in our next series, 'Name Above All Names'. This week we consider how Jesus is 'The Seed of the Woman' promised in Genesis 3:15. There, in the Garden, a long-lasting enmity is foretold which will ultimately end in a fatal blow against the Serpent– his head will be crushed. Such is the power of this 'seed', but it is a power which comes only by that seed falling to the ground and dying. In the continual clash of the kingdoms today and the daily groaning of our own lives we live by faith in the sure hope of this finished work of Christ.
