The Suffering Servant (Isa 53)

God is My Salvation - Message 67 - The Suffering Servant - Isaiah 53:4-6. "A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief" (Isa. 53:3) – What the human eye missed, what can only be known by revelation, is now stated here in the heart of the Servant's Song (53:4-6). In these verses we learn about the Servant's vicarious suffering, our sin, and the Lord's will. "The Servant, by divine act, was the meeting point for the iniquity of us all." – Motyer. "Each sin of every sinner atoned for would be like a separate wound in the heart of this Man of Sorrows." – TR Burks. He is the provision and the plan of God to remove sin by transferring guilt to Himself – Lev. 16:21; John 1:29.
