Pleasing Our Neighbor

The theologically weak understanding of the weak believer leads him to adopt wrong scruples, which in turn cause difficulties for both themselves and others. Paul exhorts the strong to come alongside and help the weak with this problem. He explains that the objective is that the weak might be brought to maturity through patient, loving instruction from God's word. This is what Paul means by "for his good" and "leading to edification."
