Bible Meditation | Jonah 1:7

"And they said every one to his fellow, Come, and let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this evil is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah." (Jonah 1:7)

The world holds Christians to high moral expectations. How shameful when we, as people who belong to God, fail to meet or exceed those expectations. In Jonah's case, the mariners who, in their innocence, share a place in his chastisement demonstrate greater level of moral character than God's prophet.

This demonstrates the danger of cold indifference. Break up that fallow ground my friend. Stay tender towards the word of God!

1 Timothy 4:13-16 "Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee."
