It's good to see you all tonight. Thank you for coming. It's a joy for us to come together to fellowship and to worship the Lord our God. This last Sunday was the second Sunday of the month, so that reminds us that this coming week will be our Fellowship Sunday. So we look forward to not only hearing the Word of God, we'll have the opportunity to hear Mr. Joel Na. in adult Sunday school. We'll also hear the word of God, but we'll have a time of fellowship afterwards. And we are excited about that. And as I mentioned on Sunday, feel free to invite a guest, a friend, someone, a neighbor, somebody close by. We would love to extend the right hand of fellowship and pass the plate for the fellowship. So we're looking forward to that. As most of you heard, for tonight's service, we'll do things a little bit differently. You see in the handout, we're taking strength, looking for strength, spiritual strength from the scripture, from song, and from our supplications. We had snow earlier today. The sun's now sunk below the horizon. The night is dark. You might have had a stressful or lonely or testing day. There might have been times of discouragement, or you might have spent the day being continually encouraged, blessed, and strengthened. Whatever your circumstances as you're here this evening, I hope that you can testify with the psalmist that the Lord has indeed been my strength and my salvation. Tonight, we're going to encourage our hearts from the word of God, We're going to mutually encourage one another in song, and then I'm going to ask a gentleman to come and pray throughout to complete the cycle. So we've got four cycles here, and Lord willing, this will be a time which will encourage all of us in the Lord, in his word, and with a joyful voice. So this evening, It is night, but there is sunshine in our souls. Let's turn to hymn number 488. We'll sing the first and the last verse of 488. We'll stand to sing. There is sunshine in my soul today. There is sunshine in my soul today. ♪ Glorious and bright ♪ ♪ Let us sing a new song ♪ ♪ For Jesus is my God ♪ ♪ Oh, let us sing a new song ♪ ♪ For Jesus is my God ♪ On the floor. There is no darkness at all in Him. He has redeemed us. We are safe, for He is our rock. He is our fortress. There is none who can snatch us from our Savior's hands. And so as we meditate on the fact that the Lord is our light and our salvation, let's turn to 489. Count your blessings, name them one by one. It's the next song over. We'll sing verses one, two, and four. Verse four is not available online, so we can turn off the screen for that one. But verses one, two, and four, when of all life's billows, you are tempest-tossed. When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, count your many blessings. When our hard lives close, you are tempest-tossed. When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, count your many blessings in one word. And it moves to guide you on the road that is love. Count your blessings in the one by one. Count your blessings, see what God has done. Count your blessings in the heart of God Count your blessings in the heart of God Capture many lessons, angels will attend. I want to give you to your driver easy. Love to bless you, dear one, I love you. Love to bless you, dear one, I love you. Love to bless you, dear one, I love you. Love to give you blessings, dear one, I love you. A few more pages to hymn number 576. The psalmist asks the question, whom shall I fear? Well, our Lord is a very present help in times of danger, a shelter in a time of storm. 576, we'll sing verses one and four. Lord our own, when can we find a shelter in the time of sin? Psalm 27, verses 2 and 3 says, The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. We should never be afraid, for God is our God. Because he is God, as Joshua commands, as we see throughout the scriptures, we can be strong and very courageous. Our hymn reflecting on these truths is that we are indeed safe in the arms of Jesus. We'll sing all the verses, 476, 476 verses one, two, and three. Steady arms of Jesus, steady on his gentle breast, there by his poor ship, sweet Jesus, Lord, it is the voice of angels. Those who just love the living, Those hands I'm terribly holding, Why, someone's wasting. Arching on, arching on, I'm worse now. Marching on, marching on, on the spellbound road. Good Lord, Heavenly Father, as we come before you tonight, we can come before you with thanksgiving. Lord, we know the blessings that you have given us. As we think back over the years of how you have blessed this whole Bible Church, this whole Christian school, Lord, there have been good times, there have been bad times, bad times and mean times, Lord, but you have guided us through it all. And we pray now that you will continue to help us as we move to the future. As some things remain the same, some things change, Lord. As we go forward, help us to go forward, as the song said, marching on. Lord, as we see the mountains arise before us, the difficult times, Lord, we pray that you would bring to our minds the good times. and that you would deliver us, that you would lead us into the future. And Lord, let us remember that. as we request You to lead us, requires us to be good followers. Equip us, Lord, with the tools we need, with the confidence, with the security, with the strength, with the willingness to follow, wherever the path may lead, as You guide us along. Lord, we pray that you would continue to watch over us, guide us, keep us, Lord, and help us to be faithful to you in all that we do. In your name we pray, amen. As we continue our reading in Psalm 27, Psalm 27, verses four and five reminds us, one thing have I desired of the Lord. That will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion. In the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me. "'He shall set me upon a rock.'" This month, we are memorizing John 15, verses one through six. John 15, verses one through six, speaks of the sweetness of that fellowship in God's presence, being hidden in Him. So John 15, verses one through six, you might remember it. "'I am the true mind,' Jesus says, "'and my Father is the husband, Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away, and every branch that beareth fruit he purgeth it, that it may bear more fruit. Now are ye clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit of itself except it abide in the vine, No more can ye, except ye abide in me. Jesus says, I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him. The same bringeth forth much fruit, for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered. And in gathering, he is cast into the fire, and there abideth he. As we continue back to the scriptures in Psalm 27 verse 6, Now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me. Therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy. I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord. The Holy Spirit is a giver of the fruit of the Spirit, including love, joy, peace, Long-suffering, goodness, meekness, temperance, all these good things come from God. In the Lord our God is fullness of joy. Jesus Christ said, I have come that you might have life and have it abundantly. We have abundant life, abundant joy. So we'll sing verses one, two, and four, one, two, and four of hymn number 101, and then Mr. Hendrickson will come and lead us in prayer. You may remain seated. There is no gift so sweet on earth, no gift so sweet and heavy. How needy for His wondrous breath to cross the sea. Jesus love you We long to see the cross again, and be blessed, Jesus, in His true glory ever. So good, so sweet as Jesus. Oh, Jesus, by heaven's majesty, Thy grace shall fill us ever. He has just heard this thing, now he'll be saved forever. He understands the price of pain, and he'll take the price of Jesus. He has to go to heaven, it's too much to say. I now ask Mr. Henderson to come and lead us in prayer. As we come before you today, Lord, we think of your great goodness. And before we ask for one thing, we take note of your goodness Even in the midst of turmoil and strife, here we are, in a safe place, praying to a God who has all power, able to subdue kingdoms, to take kings off their thrones, to put other kings up on the thrones of earth. So today we acknowledge your power, your authority, your greatness, your wisdom, all the good things that we would acknowledge of one so great and so mighty. But the might is not the last of the story. Your mercy upon us, we should have suffered even more by reason of the law given We stood condemned, helpless, hopeless, and yet you stepped in and rendered us with all hope and with a home in heaven, with a one who gave his all that we might live. Praise and honor, glory and majesty, Blessing upon his holy name. We cry out with the saints of the first chapters of the revelation of Jesus Christ. Blessing and honor, glory and power be unto thee and unto the lamb that was slain from before the foundation of the world. Praise him indeed. Known him so sweet indeed. We have an understanding Only in part, but in the time to come, what will we understand? So much more. And our joy, sometimes now, tainted with the corruption, the disease, the sorrow, the despair of life. But in time to come, joy beyond the joy we have ever known here, as it is joy unspeakable and full of glory, when there will be no death, no disease, no sorrow, no crying, no requests for healing from cancer or diabetes or any of the rest that have assaulted our ranks and the spiritual corruption that would seek to take us down. And so we come before you, mighty one, to lift up our heads, even as it cries out in Psalm 24. Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory will come in. We look for that time that we lift up our heads by your grace and by your power, that in your presence we should have fullness of joy, even upon the earth to get just a taste of what is yet to come. All glory, power, and majesty be unto the one whose name is above every name, whose word is sure and steadfast and will not change. Hallelujah. Even so, Lord Jesus, come quickly. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen. We will conclude with a prayer that is a song. So let's sing as a prayer that the Lord would keep us near the cross. Hymn number 144. We will sing verses 1, 3, and 4. Hymn 144, verses 1, 3, and 4. We'll stand to sing. After we sing this, Pastor Chua, I'll ask you to come and give the final prayer to close the service.
