Entombed

The record of our Lord's burial confirms his death, and all it means for us. The people involved further reveal the work of grace, and also our limitations and frailties. The honour bestowed on his body reminds us of the worthiness of our Lord, and teaches us about the value of men and women made in God's image. The prophecies fulfilled again emphasise the identity of Jesus of Nazareth as God's Christ. The Sabbath observed shows the significance of God's commands even under the most distressing of circumstances. The whole episode teaches us the importance of believing what God has done, is doing, and will do, according to his unfailing word.
