I. Wine and the Messiah's Coming

o Wine and Messianic prophecy

On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine, rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined …It will be said on that day, "Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation."—Isa. 25:6,9 (cf. Joel 3:18; Amos 9:13)

"You have kept the good wine until now!"—Jn. 2:10

II. Wine and Jesus' Work in You

o Joy (Jn. 15:11)

[God gives] wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen his heart.—Psa. 104:15

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.—Psa. 23:5

I will take the cup of salvation & call upon the name of the LORD.—Psa. 116:13
