Signs Typical of This Present Age

At the beginning of His teaching on the destruction of Jerusalem, His Second Coming, and the end of the age in His Olivet Discourse, Jesus first tells us of seven signs that are characteristic of the entire age between His ascension and His Second Coming. These signs are not an indication that the end has come, and Jesus specifically commands us to not interpret such present distress as if they meant the end had come. Despite our Lord's clear commands, however, many have interpreted these very signs as signs of the end, some to the everlasting peril of their souls. Let us take heed to His warnings and no longer be children who are tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. Let us go on to maturity!
