In Luke 1, verses 67-70, we see God open the mouth of Zacharias after having shut it because of unbelief in what God had told him in the temple. God uses him to speak about the promises of salvation through Jesus Christ, which had been foretold since the beginning of time as we know it, since the world was created. God has always had His prophets, those who spoke of Jesus, who told of all the great things that God would do through His Son, Jesus, and of the time when He would come. God speaks in the Bible many times as if it had already been completed, because when God says something, you can bank on it, that it is going to come true. This Redeemer was to come through the family of David, and it did. God still speaks today through His Word, and He can use us to tell others about Him in all that He has done and can do for those who will believe and trust in Christ. Are we unbelieving like Zacharias, or do we trust in God so much that when He speaks to us through His word and prayer that we are willing to believe and follow Him wherever He leads us and in whatever He asks us to do?
