no lack of His word. What a glory He sheds on our
way. What we do is goodwill He abides
with us still And with all who will trust and obey Trust and
obey For there's no other way To be happy in Jesus But to trust
and obey Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy
in Jesus but to trust and obey. So normally we have the screen
to do our memory verse But since we don't, I'm just going to cut
the memory verse in half Okay, also Proverbs 3, 5 to 6 is going
to be our theme verse for this entire one Okay, I'm going to
give you a hint Our theme song is Trust and Obey What do you
think our theme is? Trust and Obey Proverbs 3, 5,
and 6. Okay, today we're just going
to do Proverbs 3, 5. Everyone repeat after me. Trust in the
Lord with all your heart and lead not on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3, 5. Okay, just in case you guys I couldn't get it, so I added
an option. Trust in the Lord, with all your heart, and lean
not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3, 5. Okay, let's do
that one more time, and then I'm gonna see if anyone memorized
it. Proverbs 3, 5. Proverbs 3, 5. Trust in the Lord with all your
heart and lean not on your own understanding. And lean not on
your own understanding. Proverbs 3, 5. Proverbs 3, 5.
Raise your hand if you can't do it. Proverbs 3, 5. Proverbs 3.5, trust in the Lord
with all your heart and lean not on your own. Proverbs 3.5,
trust and obey. Trust in the Lord with all your
heart and lean not on your own. What's the reference? Proverbs chapter 5, verse 3.
Proverbs chapter 3, verse 5. Proverbs 3, verse 5. Proverbs
3, verse 5. Proverbs 3, verse 5. Jooheon or Sharon, you want to
try it? How about together? You guys
can do it. OK. She's going to do the first
part. She wants the second part. She wants the third part. What's
the first part? You can't say it out loud. Come on. Sharon.
Juwan, you try it. What's the first part? Okay, now. Okay, on to the last. Proverbs 35. Is that right? Oh,
Moses is right. Okay. What's this part? With all your
heart. And what's this? Lead not on
what? On your own understanding. OK.
Today, unfortunately, we don't have a plague. But I came up
with a game that plays to the final. Have any of you guys heard
of the trusty game? Ryan is going to be my test subject. Ryan, come on. I'm not trusting
anyone. I'm not trusting Ryan. Of course
you're Paul. Nah. Okay, so Ryan is going to
put his arms out like that. And then he's going to trust
me, and he's going to fall. Come on. Shoot me. OK, fall.
Yeah, exactly. Do any of you guys want to try?
OK, Sharon first. I saw a rhythm. So do this. Come here. Come to
the front. OK, who do you want to do it? Why did she come up here? Okay,
I fall back. Oh, he doesn't trust me. Why can't I hold it? Why can't
I hold this? Ready? No, no, no. Don't move
your head. Hey, you shouldn't touch this.
Good. Arms straight up, she loves your
arms. See, it wasn't straight for me.
Did he? Yeah. I'm going to try. I'm going to pass her. Ina, why don't you give it a
try? I want you to experience the
view. Go closer, go closer. Guys, I'm going to give you a
lesson. I'm going to give you two facts
that are in the untrusting game. Okay? Fact number one. Zeke,
come here. You're going to do my first test
joke. Before he falls on me, what must
he do? Bench. What's the first thing he must do? Before falling
down. What's the first thing he must do? To trust. Yes. Does
he have anyone to trust? No. Bench. All right. Okay, now let me give you another
example. Zeke, stay there. Why can't I trust him? He's too big. He's too big? I'm too big, right? Zeke is not
strong enough for me to put my trust in, right? It's me. Who
is one person that you can't always put your trust in? Yes,
he is strong enough to hold you. Show the examples. Today's Bible
story is going to be about Hezekiah. Do any of you guys know Hezekiah?
You know Hezekiah? I don't know. They will tell
me. What is Hezekiah's job? He's a prophet. He's not a prophet. What is Hezekiah's job? Is he a prophet? Is he a priest?
Or is he a king? I'll give you the definition.
King. He's a king. You're right. How do you be a
priest? So King Hezekiah was good in the eye of the beholder. was a good king of Judah. But
during his reign, an Assyrian commander named Sennacherib.
Everyone say Sennacherib. Sennacherib. Sennacherib. Came
with his big Assyrian army of more than 180,000, and he besieged
Jerusalem, the home of Hezekiah. You guys know what besiege means?
What? It means to surround the city. Now, if an invading army attacked
your home, what would you do? Pray. Pray? Oh, that's the right
answer. Kill it. Yeah. Guys, King Hezekiah
could have run. He was the king. He had money
to run. But he stayed there, he prayed, and he trusted in
God. Okay, let's leave the story there
and go back to our interesting game. Who wants to volunteer?
Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!
Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!
Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!
Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!
Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!
Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!
Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!
Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me! Me
Okay, so D.O. put your hands up. D.O.' 's there. What does he
first have to do? He has to trust that I'm here. Trust God. Let's say a train
is coming. And D.O. must move backwards
in order to escape the train. And I'm here to catch him. If
the train is coming and Daniel Lee says, I trust in you, Daniel,
right? And he does nothing, what's gonna
happen? Die. Yes, exactly. The train's gonna
hit him. He's gonna die. Daniel Lee has to trust me and
then he has to act, which is falling. You can't fall, no? Ah, good. So, one more. Trust and obey. Exactly. If you trust and you
don't obey, then it's useless, right? So, let's go back to King
Hezekiah. After King Hezekiah received the letter, right? First
thing he did was pray. And then, if he had just prayed,
what would have happened? Realistically, Moses. God sent
one angel to the church, and he gave it. Don't give any spoilers. No, no, no. King Hezekiah, if
he just prayed, and then after that, he just laid on his bed.
Guys, be quiet. If he just laid on his bed, what
would have happened? He died. Died, exactly. He had to trust
and then obey. So the way he obeyed was he made
defenses around the walls of Jerusalem so that when Sennacherib
and his Assyrians came, they could not go right into Jerusalem.
And so Sennacherib had to send a messenger saying, Hezekiah,
give up. You don't stand a chance. We've
defeated many armies that are stronger than you before you.
Give up? They all trusted in their gods, but they ultimately
were defeated. You should give up, too. But
Hezekiah trusted in the Lord. And what night came... What happened,
Moses? Oh, you said... The angel killed 10,000. A little
more than 10,000. Much more than 10,000. Really?
No, much more. 10,000? Bigger than 10,000. 10,000.
15,000 something. No, much bigger. It's bigger than 100,000. One
billion. Smaller than that. You know? Smaller than that.
OK, so. $350,000. $200,000. Really close. It's a bit lower
than that. $300,000. I said lower than $200,000.
$190,000. Little lower than that. $180,000. $180,000. God sent
an angel and in the middle of the night. He killed 180,000 civilians. And Sinatra thought that all
his army was useless, so he ran back home. So, has it kind of
raised the problem of Sinatra and his army? What two things
did he do? Come on. Someone besides these three.
What's our theme? Trust and obey. Exactly. You already got it. Trusting
and obeying. So, I want one person to volunteer
about a problem they experienced in their life and how they responded
to it. Oh, Zeke? Okay, what's one problem
you experienced? Don't play game. It's not game though. Can anyone
give a problem they experienced recently? My grandma hurt her
face, and then I prayed for her, and then she hurt herself. OK, that's one of the things.
You trust it, and you pray. You trust it, and then you act
it by praying. Good job. So I'm going to give you one
example that you guys will probably experience a lot. Say you have
a big test coming up. What should you do? What do you
normally do? A big test coming up. This test
will determine the rest of your future. What? Study. Study hard. Cry. Cry? Pray. Okay, you guys are all just doing
half the answer. Pray. Pray to God over one trust. And then you study. Now, what
would happen if you only said, God, so please help me get 100
on this test, and you didn't study? You get a zero, right? So that's the importance of trusting
and then obeying. That's it for today. We'll end
in prayer, and then we'll start our game plan. Close your eyes. Put your hands together. Dear
Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day. We thank you for
this lesson we've learned through Hezekiah of trusting you and
then obeying you. We pray that every one of us
here would trust you and obey you when we face problems. In
Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
