Zechariah 7 & 8 (Returning to His People)

In Zechariah 7 the Lord tells His people that when they fasted they did not fast for Him. And when they ate and drank, they ate and drank for themselves. And since they did not repent of their disobedience and hard-heartedness, the Lord scattered them.

In Zechariah 8 the Lord expresses His zealousness for His people (and was deeply hurt that His Bride would play the harlot with others, according to Ezekiel). And He mercifully comes to His people, calling them back and returning to them. It is God who must mercifully and graciously seek and find us.
