(12) A Judging and Rescuing God

44 ( 28 | 16 )

I have good news and bad news—which do you want first? We've all been asked that question. Apparently, most people would rather hear the bad news first. Still, we more often lead with good news—maybe we think it will soften the blow of what we have to say next. But sometimes we need bad news first.

Ezekiel 11 concludes the vision that let Ezekiel view life in Jerusalem. Again he calls out the peoples' sin. But he closes with a string of promises for everyone who trusts and obeys the Lord. This bad news is about sinners like us. By nature, we are no better than them. "For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:22, 23). The good news is also for us.
