Discharge of the Flesh.

After dealing with different types of leprosy, now God moves on to declare the laws related to discharges. The discharges are those things that come from people that are related to sexual matters. God starts by declaring the treatment of men who have sexually transmitted diseases. Just like with the leprosy, it can appear that the statutes are to stop the spread, but these commandments really would not stop the spread. They are physical pictures to declare spiritual realities and only incidentally deal with physical realities. Touching a bed, sitting in a chair or touching the skin of someone with a venereal disease is not how it spreads, but those are the restrictions put in place by God. Sin and the effects of sin spread far faster and easier than a venereal disease. It is very easy for us to underestimate the impact sin has to our future and how much it impacts people around us.
