Welcome to another message from the gospel Luke. We're in the 21st chapter of Luke and we are in the fifth verse Jesus has been talking to some people that are trying to destroy him kill him murder him. These are religious people Yet they are breaking all of the laws of the Old Testament they're bearing false witness or lying and trying to commit murder and because they do not want to hear the King of Israel. They did not want to lose their political and religious clout that they had amassed. 21 and verse 5 from the Greek and then we'll go into the translation of it, a little grammar, and into the Amplified Bible as I read that. legonton peritu eru, hote lithoes caloes cae anathemason cacosmete apein. And some of them, these people, and by the way the cross reference to this in Matthew is 24 in verse 1 and 2 and Mark 13 in verse 1 and 2. And some of them speaking about the temple. They're talking about the temple that Herod built. That great, beautiful temple that Herod had built. Now Herod was a descendant of Esau, not Jacob. Jacob was the faith line, the line of the heir, the patriarchal line. It was not Esau. But Anthony and Cleopatra put Herod on the throne, and he built some fantastic things, architect, and he built a Hippodrome in Jerusalem, and also he built them this fantastic temple area. Herod was an unbeliever. He was not a believer. The temple, that was stones beautiful. Lithoes Kaloes, beautiful, lovely, and Anathemasin. Now, Anathemasin, in 1 Corinthians 16, chapter and verse number 22, we have that word there. Paul said he wished he was Anathema, if Israel could be saved. Now, the word Anathema means the place upon the wall, literally, Ana, and Thithyme is what it comes from. And it means to give a gift It comes all the way from ancient Greek, where they would go into a Greek temple with Greek gods and goddesses, and that someone would give a gift to that temple, and in doing that, they would place it upon the wall, and it can never be redeemed or brought out of that temple area. It was given one way, one way only. It did not come back to you. Now, the Jews. There was no social security, no old age pensions, no work farm for the old people, whatever, as we later have. But the children had to take care of the parents when they got old because they would inherit all their parents had done. And instead of supporting their parents, they would go and say, Corbin, Corbin. I am dedicating, I am anathemasin, I am dedicating all that I have to the temple. And when they died, it went theirs. But in the meantime, they couldn't spend all this money. It was dedicated to the temple rejuvenation, upkeep, and whatever. That was a wicked thing that they did. And then it says here, Que Cosmete, that's third person singular, perfect indicative passive. It has been adorned and set in order. That word cosmos is from this word, and this is a verb. Comes from cosmeo, and that means set in order. Women's cosmetics and sometimes men's cosmetics today are setting your face in order, you're beautifying your hair, coloring it, every color under the rainbow these days. Even changing the color of your eyes with contacts that are colored. All kinds of things people want to change the way they look. They curl their hair, they straighten their hair. They dye their hair, they bleach their hair. Whatever God made you, you want to be different. That's the simple way it is. Change it. But now this beautiful temple had been set in order and adorned he said. Twenty-one and verse six. Tauta ha therete illusonte hemera in eis buc afe theisete, lithos epiglitho, hos u catalisestete. And then a question was asked, an interrogative question. These things which ye behold, they shall come days in which not it shall be left stone upon stone, lethos efi letho, which not it shall be torn down. Herod's Temple was actually finished in AD 64. It stood finished for six years before it was destroyed. Herod's temple was actually finished in AD 64, after Herod was dead. But it stood finished for only six years before it was completely brought down because of the work of the Saqqari, which made their last stand at Masada. Now here comes the real question. And they interrogated him, saying, when therefore these sayings, it shall come to pass, or it shall become. And what is the sign, To-se-meron, when it may be about these sayings to become, or to happen. Verse number eight, Ho-de-e-pen-ble-pe-te. May plan a set a follow a guard a loose on today epitome on a mocked a move leg on taste a go Amy hi all Cairo's get him may peruse a tay hope he so out and he said the one said you've seen out he be led astray You see, don't be led astray. Many, for many they shall come upon the name of me, saying that they are me. And this has happened. I could go back here. I've done this already. You can go back in my notes and recordings back when I showed all of the false messiahs all the way from Christ's time down to the 1900s. All of the false messiahs, the Jewish false messiahs that had come. Many times the whole nations of Jews would be following this false leader. He said, don't you be led astray now. Many are going to say that I am, ego eimi, now that's Exodus 3.14 as we know, we're the great I am. They're going to say that I am the great I am. And the season it has drawn near, not ye may go after them. Not ye may go after them. The great I am. Jesus was the great I am. John 1.1 says, In beginning kept on being the Jehovah. The word word there, hologos, is the equivalent of halavar in Hebrew, which stood for the name of God, which is Jehovah, which we say that so easily we don't even know how to say it. Yah, maybe. We don't have, there's no vowels in that. All four consonants, no vowels. How do we know to say that word? We don't. But we refer to that because of King James and his committee, that the name of God would be Jehovah. That's Yod-Heh-Wal-Heh. Jehovah. Don't go after them. I've heard people say that the Bible was written by men. that up until the Council of Nicaea, that no one in the church age looked at Jesus as the God of Heaven, as Jehovah the Old Testament. Well, yeah. Jesus referred to it right here in John 8 and 58, in John the 10th chapter, and John 1, 14, and the Jehovah flesh he became and dwelt among us. We bow to the glory of the glory of the Father, full of grace and truth. The only begotten God, the One being in the bosom of the Father, that One has led Himself out. These are plain statements from John, the Gospel of John. John wrote his Gospel around 90 A.D. We have some pieces of that go all the way back to that period of time. I had a person say here a while back and ran it all over the Internet that there were no eyewitnesses to Jesus' life. Oh, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were all written many years later. That's not what it says here in this book. By the way, there was a royal purple manuscripts that were written, I think around 800 AD. Around 800 AD, they dyed some, what is animal skins, purple. And they wrote the whole, and this is in the Greek manuscript, and they wrote the whole manuscript in silver, except for they came to the name of Jesus, or Lord, and they wrote that in gold. Way back yonder, in that period of time, they looked upon Jesus as the God of heaven. as the God of heaven. Gold is the color for deity. Silver is redemption. He said, don't you go after them. I am the great I am, and I am the great I am alone. Verse number nine, Hotan de akusete. Holemos kai apakastasaias me to etete de jar tauta Geneste, Proton, Allah, Uk, Euthyos, Told, Helios. But when you may hear wars, polymous wars, and civil wars, look at that, Autocastasia, this is what we call local and universal wars, insurrections, civil wars. Continued wars and continual wars within. This is what's happened in the Muslim world all the way from Muhammad's time. Wars and civil wars over there killing each other, beheading each other, all in the name of the one single prophet they're supposed to be calling if you call him a prophet. I don't believe he was. Not, he may be frightened. It is bindingly necessary for these things to happen first, but not immediately the end. After all of these things, now how many we got? We've had the Napoleonic Wars. We've had the so-called Christian Crusades. We've had the Muslim Wars going all into Europe and all over the place. Wars and wars and wars and wars. We had World War I. We had World War II. We had the Vietnam War, or police action, or whatever you want to call it. It was war, the Korean War. We've had the Middle East wars, plural. All of these things we've had. We've had all of these wars, and the end is not here yet. About every 18 months or so, somebody finally decides that the end of the world is coming. And this is it. Get your stuff ready. The end of the world is here. Jesus said, do not believe them. Do not believe them. Now on the internet, there's another man out there. He starts you off by watching a little preview of what you might call come on. Then he tells you exactly when the Lord is going to come back. But you've got to buy this book to do that. To know and find out when. He's going to tell you how it's going to happen. 21 verse 10. Tote elegan autois ega resesete. Ethnos ef ethnos cai basilea epi basileon. Then he kept on saying to them, it shall be raised up nation upon nation, or against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. Thaismoi, te megaloi, kai kada tupos, limon, limoi that is, kai loimoi, esonte phobetra, te kai ap, Uranu, Simeon, Megalei, Este. Earthquakes, this is where we get our word seismic from, seismoi. We got our word seismic register, seismic machines, they register earthquakes. Both great, according to places and famines and pestilences. They shall become fears and terrors, both. And from heaven, signs great it shall be. The heavens shall, there will be signs from the heavens. 21 and verse 12, pro, de, tuton, ponton, epibaluson, ephimos, tas, keras, auto, kai, disucion, disucion, Pareditontes estas sina monos. Cae phalacos. Apag gamanus epibasilis cae haemeronos anakin. Tu onomatous mu. But before these things, all there shall throw down upon you the hands of them, and they shall persecute, handing you over unto the synagogues and prisons. That means they've been locked down with keys. Being led always before the kings and governors for the sake of my name, for the sake of my name. 21, 13, Apobesete himenes maturion. And it shall turn about to you for a witness. It shall do about-face for you for a witness. 21, verse 14, Thetae un aetes, cardiaes, hymon me pro melete. Apolegethene. Now Jesus is running from one period of time to the other. He's looking far ahead, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 1000 years ahead and then he comes back to the contemporary times and that's what's here. Ye put therefore in the hearts of you not to practice beforehand to defend yourselves. The word apologetene means to practice apologetics. Apologetics comes from that word. Ego gar doso himen stoma chai sophion he u deneson pe atehistene e alatev pen hapantes hoi ata kemenoi himen. for I shall give to you, in your mouth, the wisdom, the word wisdom there is sophion, that means high wisdom, which not they shall be able to stand against, or to contradict, to spake against, from all the ones opposing you. Paradofeste de ca hypomoneon, Ky Adelphone, Ky Thiggenone, Ky Phelone, Ky Thanatususone, Examone. And ye shall be betrayed also by parents, where genetics come from, and gone they own, and brothers, and relatives, those born together with you, and friends, people that like you a lot that weren't feelin' there, and they shall put to death some out of you. Cai eseste, miso menoi, hipo ponton diato onomatomu. And ye shall become being hated by the agency of all men because of my name. Kai thrix, ek teis kafales, himon u me apholete. And a single hair out of the head of you, know not, yet shall perish. May be destroyed. And this is the last verse in this message. Ente hipo mone, himon katei saste. tos psyches himo. And in the endurance, that means to remain under the strain, and they would remain under the strain of you, you shall gain the life of you, the soul of you. Let us go back and look at these verses from the Amplified as we go and read those verses from verse 5 onward. And some were saying of the temple that it was decorated with handsome, shapely, and magnificent stones. And consecrated offerings laid up to be kept, he said. As for all this that you thoughtfully behold, the time will come when there shall not be one stone left here upon another stone that will not be thrown down. And they asked him, When shall these things become? What signs shall there be when this is about to occur? And then he goes through the whole church age. The whole church age. And we're not finished with it in this message here yet. It's going to continue on. And they ask him, Teacher, when shall these things happen? And what signs shall there be when these things are about to occur? And He said, Be on your guard and be careful that you are not led astray by many who will come in My name, appropriating to themselves the name Messiah, which belongs to Me and own, saying, I am He, and the time is at hand. Do not go after them. I preach the message right here in this little cabin. about a year or so ago about the false messiahs. Go back and look that one up. It'll tell you the name, the time, and when they lived. And how that Israel, the Jewish people followed them over and over and over again. This is for them. Don't follow me. These are the Jewish people he's talking about. They're the only ones that have the messiah. Or looking for the messiah. It's not the Gentiles. And when you hear of wars and insurrections and disturbances and disorder and confusion, do not become alarmed and panic-strippen and terrified, for all this must take place first. Proton, but the end will not come immediately. And they told them nation shall be rise up against nation and kingdom against nation, kingdom against kingdom. And there will be mighty and violent earthquakes, And in various places, famines and pestilences and plagues and malignant and contagious and infectious epidemic diseases, deadly and devastating, and there will be sights of terror and great signs from heaven. Yes, it shall be. But previous to all of this, they will now come to you. These people right there. Who's speaking? Jesus. Who's He speaking to? His Church. and that's what's going to happen to them now. This will happen to the disciples down later, and to the Jews later. They shall lay their hands upon you and persecute you, turning you over to the synagogues and the prisons. Synagogues, that is a Jewish gathering. And the prisons, and you will be led away before kings and governors, for my name's sake. And this would happen. Paul was led. Peter was led. Many of these people would die. Only John, and he was heavily persecuted, only John would live to an old age. This will be a time and opportunity for you to bear testimony. Resolve and settle it in your minds, not to meditate and to prepare beforehand how you make your defense or how you will answer. This is not for us today. This is for them then. Who's he speaking to? What's the subject? For them, they would go, these church members would go before synagogues, they would go before magistrates, they would go before governors, they would go before rulers, and don't worry about what you're gonna say, I'm gonna fill your mouth. I studied all day long to do this message. It didn't fall out of my head just by falling out of my head. I studied for it. They didn't have to. For myself, I will give you a mouth with such utterance and wisdom as for all of your foes combined will be unable to stand against or refute you. You'll be delivered up and betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends and some of you, they will put to death. Paul's family, according to history, he was married, his wife divorced him, his children literally disowned him because he became a Christian. Paul was put to death at least once, was stolen to death, was whipped many times with a cat and nine tails, beaten, drug around, starved, in great want and need. These things will be fulfilled upon him and the rest of them too. And you will be hated and despised by everyone because you bear my name and for its sake. but not a hair of your head shall perish. By your steadfastness and patient endurance you shall win the true life of your souls. And then he goes on to talk about Jerusalem. I hope this has helped you in the interpretation of scriptures and what was happening back then, what applies to us now and what applied to them then. Mainly this is written to the Jewish people. He told the church, this was written to the church right there, but he told the Jews, don't believe those false messiahs and when they shall come, don't believe them, believe me. If you're out there and you're lost and you don't know that Jesus Christ is your savior, ask him to forgive you, beg him to forgive you for your forgiveness. You're a child of God, follow the Lord. The best thing for your life is to follow Jesus. You'll never be sorry if you fail to follow Jesus. Our Father, we send this message out this day for your honor, for your glory. And Father, thank you for the blessings you give us each and every day. Forgive me where I fail you, please, in Jesus' name.
