God With Us: Promised

When God called Abraham, he gave him the promise that he would have an offspring, the offspring who would restore what was lost. When Abraham finally had his son Isaac, he was overjoyed. But then the unthinkable happened and God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son. In this act of faith, God shows us how the true offspring of Abraham, God's own Son in the flesh, was not spared for our behalf, thus fulfilling His promise.
