Confidence

In spite of all appearances to the contrary, and even in the midst of severe soul struggle and the terrible temptation of being deceived into believing that God has betrayed and abandoned His very own people, this Account of the Anguish of Asaph begins with a resounding declaration of Confidence in the 'God who is surely good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.'
