Your Kingdom Come

The Lord's Prayer drives our attention to the big issues that should dominate our prayers. The first petition is for God's glory. God is driven by a holy zeal for his own glory. That same zeal should be reflected in our prayers as well. In the second request we pray for God's kingdom to come. Just hearing the word "kingdom" lets you know that this is a big issue. In the classification of living things kingdom is the highest order. Praying for the kingdom rescues our prayers from self-centeredness and tribalism.
