message from the gospel Luke
we're moving on we're in the 20th chapter of Luke and verse
number 21 we're talking about some wicked
men with wicked ways some wicked men with wicked ways they are
testing Jesus Just before this, in one of the
last messages, it said that they were acting like they were agreeing
with Jesus to try to trap him. These are wicked men with wicked
ways. Verse 21, Kai epiro teson, auton
legontes, dedoskele, oedaman hote. orthos, leges, kai, dadaskes,
kai u, labenes, prosopon, alep, aletheos, tein, hodon, tu, theu,
dadaskes. And they interrogated him, and
we're talking about Jesus, saying, Teacher, we have known that straight,
right, The word here, we get the word orthopedic from. Straight
or right, orthos. You speak. Now, if they really
believed this, they should have said, Lord, forgive us. You speak
and you teach. And not, you receive the face,
but upon truth. The way of God you teach. What
hypocrisy. These boys were part of the Actors
Guild. These guys would have been right at home with L.Q.
Jones and some of the actors, John Wayne. They would have been
right at home with them because they are nothing but actors.
Now verse number 22, now they're still trying to entrap him. Ex
est in himos kaiseri foron dunei au. And it says, it is lawful, is
it lawful for us to Caesar? Look at that word, kaiseri. The word Kaiser comes from this,
kaiseri, Caesar, taxes or tribute, the poll tax on land and houses,
what this is, the foron, to give or not, a hypocritical trick. We know that you teach the straight
way. We know that you're wonderful. And now they try their best to
entrap him. Cada no esos. De autontain panorgion. E pan pros autois. And having
recognized of them, the belonging to them, the deceit, the panorgion,
This, this is the Penepali, this is Pandora's box of evil. Pandora's
box. The Panorgion. Pandora's box
of evil and cleverness and cunning and deceit, he said toward them. Twenty-four. Dexate. Moi. De ne rion. He said, you show, you point
out to me the one day's wages, the denarion. Bring me a silver
coin that represents one day's wages, of whom it has the image. Now, it does not say the here,
but there are no indefinite articles. It does not say, who is the image? And having written upon the superscription,
that means to write upon, the wands, and they said Caesar,
Caesar. That's whose picture it is on
this coin. It's Caesar's coin. Hode epon pros altos. and the one he said toward them
or to them so or in this matter you give the things to Caesar
the things belonging to Caesar to Caesar and The Things Belonging
to God to the God. The Things Belonging to Caesar
to Caesar and The Things Belonging to God to the God. Now we have
to switch books. We're now, if you're out there
listening, we're in volume number four of The Gospel Loop, the
last volume. Pros el fontes de tinas ton sadeo,
sade cadeo. Now we have the question of the
resurrection. Now the guys that are asking
Jesus, these wicked deceitful men with wicked ways, they're
lying through their teeth. And having approached some of
the Sadducees, the ones opposing the resurrection, not to be. And they interrogated him. These are the atheists, pretty
much. These people did not believe in angels. They did not believe
in spirits. They did not believe in anything supernatural. They didn't believe in any miracles
in the Old Testament. All of it was stories. That's
what they believed. Many of the modern Jews today
are Sadducees. And the old story is they're
sad, you see, because they don't believe in the resurrection.
They're sad, you see. 20 and verse 28. Now, they knew
the Bible, didn't they? They knew the Bible, but they
didn't believe the Bible. saying teacher Moses Moses remember
what Moses means in Maryland It means to rescue or to draw
out, Moshe, in the Hebrew. Teacher Moshe, he wrote to us,
if anyone, the brother, he may die, having a wife, and this
one, childless, atiknos, no born live births. It's like yalad
in Hebrew. He may be in order that he might
take the brother of him, the wife, and he might raise up seed
to the brother of him. Sperma, seed to the brother of
him. So his name would not be forgotten. 29. Hepta un adelphoi aeson cai
ho protos labon geneca apathanai atiknos. Therefore, seven brothers they
kept on being, or they kept on having, and the first one, having
taken the wife, he died, childless. And the second, kaiho dutheros,
and the second, Verse number 31 now. And the
third, he took her. And in the like manner, in the
similar way, also the seven, not they left children. And every one of them died. Now,
let me tell you a little bit about this story. This story
was a common joke. A common joke in today. A joke. Just a joke. First of all, they
didn't believe in the resurrection. And they were playing on Moses'
words. They were making fun of Moses and the Bible. They were making fun of the Word
of God. They were playing games with the Bible. trivia games
with the Bible. And lastly, at the end of all
of this also, the woman, she died. They didn't believe a word that
was coming out of their own mouths. They didn't believe this. This
is a joke. There was a joke one time, I told this joke, funny
little joke. A flea came into a saloon in
the Old West. A flea? A flea. F-L-E-A. A flea. Now this is a joke, just like
this joke right here. A flea came into a saloon in the Old
West. He hopped in the saloon, he went through the doors, and
he went out there, and he hopped up on a stool and he said, give
me a drink. And he drank a drink, and he
drank another drink, and boy, this flea was saturated. He was
drunk. He turned around on that stool and he aimed himself towards
the swinging doors. He hopped down on the floor and
he fell sideways. He hopped another hop and he
fell the other way. He hopped finally, hopped out the door
and it hit the ground out there, flop, just like that. You know
what he said? Who moved my dog? Now that's
a kind of a joke that this is. This is a joke. 2033 Hey gine un an toy Anastase Tinos
auton gine te gine Hoy gar hepta eskon altane gineka An old joke. The woman therefore in the resurrection
in Anastase, which they don't believe in, of which of them
she will become the wife. For all seven of them, they had
sexual relationships with her. As a wife. Now remember, they
don't believe in the resurrection. This is a joke. Just like that
cowboy flea. 2034 Kai et pain atois ho eisous. Ho e huion tu ionos tuto. Gamuson, Kai, And he said to
them, the Jesus, the one sons of this age, they marry and they are given
marriage. The sons of this age, the heirs
of this age, marry and are given marriage. 12 and verse 35. But the ones having counted worthy
of the age that to obtain, See that word kata and oxyo there. The ones being counted worthy.
And it wasn't by them. It's done upon them. It's passive
voice. To obtain the resurrection out of the dead ones. Now there's
two resurrections remember. The resurrection right here of
all the saved and the rapture. And then at the end of this period
of time over here We have Christ coming back in glory, and we
have people upon this earth, then way over yonder, over here
at the end of the thousand year reign of Christ, then we have
the great white stone judgment, and that's the resurrection of
the dead ones. That's the lost people are raised, and they are
thrown into the lake of fire with whatever rewards they have. Hell is a place that is not the
same. Just like in heaven there are
different aspects of glory, in hell there are different aspects
of punishment. Neither they marry nor they are
given in marriage. But having been counted worthy
of the first resurrection, is what we're talking about, this
age, to obtain and the resurrection that one out of the dead wants,
neither they marry nor they are given in marriage. Verse number
36. Uthegar apothenain. Ete denante eesagaloi gar esten. Esten that is. Cai huioi asentio
tes alasatios. Huio ontes. For neither to die
any longer yet until they are able equal to for equal to they
are unto the sons they are of God the sons of God now here
in the New Testament we have the angels called the sons of
God also like they were in the Old Testament the sons of God
they are the resurrection sons being 20 and verse 37. Chote de Egeronte. Hoi Necroi. Kai Moshe. M.A. Neeson. Epites Batu. Hoslegai Quiriotu Thontio. Abram Kai Theon. Isaac Kai Theon. But they are raised, the ones
dead, even Moses. He pointed out at the bush as
he calls the Lord God of Abraham and the Lord God of Isaac and
the Lord God of Jacob. He's the Lord God of all these
people as if they are still living because they are. Their souls
and spirits are with God. Verse number 38 now. But God, not he is, out of the dead ones, but the
living ones. For all to him they live. We all live. A person is triune,
their body, their spirit, their soul. When we die in this body,
when this body gives up and finally lays down to die, it does not, our spirit and our
souls do not die. They go to be with God if we're
saved and they go to the container called Hades until that final
resurrection there, the lost ones. Let's go back and read all of
this now from verse number 21 to 38 in the Amplified Bible. Now here we go back. And they
asked him, Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right
and show no partiality in any one. But teach the way of God
honestly and in truth. What a lie. They didn't believe
that. These people didn't believe that. Is it lawful for us to
give tribute to Caesar or not? And he recognized and understood
their cunning and unscrupulousness and said to them, Show me a coin,
a day's wages, a denarius, whose image and inscription has it."
And they said, Caesar's. Remember, Caesar is like Kaiser.
It's like Kaiser, German Kaisers, rulers. And he said to them,
then, render Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God
the things that are God's. So they could not, in the presence
of the people, take hold of anything, he said, to turn it against him.
But marveling at his reply, they were shut up, they were muzzled,
they were made to be quiet. Now we have a different group
of rascals. We have wicked men with wicked
ways. There came to him some of the
Sadducees, those who say that there is no resurrection, there
are no angels, there are no spirits, there is nothing in the supernatural
world there. It doesn't exist. Supernatural
world doesn't exist. These are the atheist Jews. And
they ask him a question, saying, Teacher, Moses wrote for us a
law that if a man's brother dies, leaving a wife and no children,
the man shall take the woman and raise up offspring for his
brother, according to Deuteronomy 25, 5 and 6. Now there were seven
brothers and the first one took a wife and died. and died without
having any children, any born sons, or live births, put it
that way, and the second. And then the third took her,
and in like manner, all seven, and they died, leaving no children.
Now, according to them, they just die, like a donkey out there
in the field, or a cow, or whatever. They just die. That's what they
thought, that they just die. The Bible says that even animals
have nephesh, and uach, and basar, their triune also. But they thought,
well, they just die and that's it. But that's not the way it is.
Last of all, the women died also, this woman. Now in the resurrection,
which they don't believe in, whose wife will the woman be
for the seven married her? And Jesus said to them, the people
of this world and the present age marrying are given in marriage.
But those who are considered worthy to gain that other world
and the future age to attain the resurrection from the dead
ones, neither married nor given in marriage. Over there in the
resurrection, there is no marriage or given in marriage. For they
cannot die again. But they are angel-like and equal
to angels. Literally, it is they are like
the sons of God in the Old Testament. Now, this word, sons of God in
the Old Testament, is angels. The sons of God came before and
Lucifer came with them. And here, in the New Testament,
it's also called, we'll suit to you, the sons of God. And
equal to angels, that's what it's talking about, is angels.
And being sons, that is, sharers in the resurrection, they are
sons of God. But that the dead are raised
from death, even Moses made known and showed in the passage. Concerning
the burning bush, where he calls to the Lord the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And that was in Exodus
3 and 6. And now he is not the God of
dead ones. but the God of the living ones.
For to him all men are alive, whether in the body or out of
it. And they are all alive, not dead. Let me finish this verse over
here. I have to turn the page, if I can possibly do it. Unto
him, indefinite relationship with him. Now in Luke, the 16th
chapter, we have a rich man. divies or Nineveh and we have
a specific Poor man a beggar by the name of Lazarus Lazarus
means Basically helpless That's what his name Lazarus means helpless.
It comes from Eliezer and the word Eliezer means God helps
but Lazarus means helpless Now Lazarus He dies, and what does
it say? That they saw him out there in
the garbage pit with the burrows and the cattle and dogs and the
sheep? Whatever? No. It says that he died, his
body was buried, and then what happens? That the angels carried
him onto Abraham's bosom. Paradise. And then it says later
on, the rich man died also. Now he must have had a royal
burial, but what happened? The burial didn't mean anything.
He lifted up his eyes in Hades, in the place of the wicked departed
spirits. And he felt, he saw, he heard,
he remembered, he was not dead. He had knowledge of what happened
in the past. and knowledge of what was going
to happen in the future. And he remembered, he wrote a love letter from hell,
remember? He wanted his five brothers not
to come to that terrible place. They begged Abraham to send one
back from the dead. Well, one had gone back from
the dead already. Several had gone back from the
dead, but these people didn't believe. They did not want to
believe. Father, we send this message
out. And if there's one out there
that doesn't know you, I pray that they'll believe in the resurrection,
that they won't be like atheists here that were making fun and
telling jokes to Jesus and ridiculing the Bible and Moses. Father,
that they will believe and they'll count your word as truth. You said you sent forth a son
made of a woman made under the law that we might have eternal
life. That he is our atonement. You also said in your word, it
says, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten
son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but
have everlasting life. Father, we know the word perish
there doesn't mean to go out of existence, because we're either
one or two places in all eternity with you or away from you. Father,
we send this message out with prayer that you'll use it to
bring sinners to you, and Father, to encourage those that are saved
to follow you with their lives. Please forgive me where I fail
you. Please watch over my wife. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
