Personal, Spiritual Victory?

There are many unanswered questions regarding the present COVID pandemic, including how will we know when it is over. Will it ever be over or what changes will we have to accept as permanent? What is the best we can hope for in our fight against COVID-19? Now, in the spiritual battle which is raging around us, we know the ultimate outcome! Jesus Christ WINS! But what about personal victory over Satan and his cohorts? What can we expect or hope for? Some believe that it is possible for you and i to reach a state of sinless perfection whereby we no longer sin nor face temptation from Satan. But is that biblical? Is it possible to live above the fray? Or is the best we can hope to achieve is to be found STANDING protected by God? That's what Paul teaches in Ephesians 6. Standing protected. Our adversary seeks to knock us down, pin us to the mat, take us out. He attacks us in many different ways. He cannot affect our eternal destiny for that is secure. But he can affect our temporal well-being. So, how can we stand or withstand in the evil day/ First, if we've been knocked down, we need to get back on our feet again through repentance and recommissioning. Secondly we need to put on the WHOLE armor of God. And last, we need to give maximum effort to the fight! At the end of Paul's life, he could say, 'I have fought the good fight.' He was found standing protected by God! And may we too finish well in the spiritual fight of our lives.
