Our Chief Profit and Teacher

In the midst of calling people to repent for their sin and wickedness and rebellion, the Apostle Peter draws on an Old Testament passage of Scripture in order to give the people of his day hope! In fact, he specifically refers to the prophecy of Moses in which Moses declares that God would raise up a prophet like him from among them, ultimately meaning Jesus! And we, too, must put our hope and trust in our blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ- the Anointed One! The One who, in the words of Heidelberg Catechism Question/Answer 31 “has been ordained by God the Father and anointed by the Holy Spirit to be Our Chief Prophet and Teacher!
