What is the Eye of the Needle?

In this Bible passage the camel and the eye of the needle go considerably beyond the unlikely prospect of a person with riches getting into the kingdom of heaven. The point of our Lord's teaching here is that it is impossible for anyone to meet the demands of being an authentic Christian of himself. The idea of self-salvation in any sense whatsoever is a cruel delusion.
