Be Killing Sin

199 ( 39 | 160 )

Either you are struggling with sin or you have surrendered to it. There is no other option. As John Owen said, "be killing sin or it will be killing you." Jesus encouraged his disciples to be tenacious in fighting sin (Matt. 5:21-22; 27-30). The benefit of confessing and dealing with sin when it is small (relatively speaking) is that we don't allow it to grow. So, for example, anger or hatred will not lead to murder, lust will not become adultery.
