The Praise and Imitation of God's Mercy and Justice

Proposition: As the Lord exercises both mercy and justice, praise Him and seek to live and rule by His ways.

Sermon Outline:
I. Your praise of God's mercy and justice (v. 1).
II. Your commitment to personal integrity (v. 2-4).
III. Your resolve to rule in righteousness (v. 5-8).

While this Psalm is from David and it expresses the conviction of a man who would be king over all Israel, the truth applies no less to you today. You also must praise God's mercy and justice in your life. Regarding God's ways, you should desire to live blamelessly and innocently in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. And regardless of how small or large the realm of your rule is, you should resolve to rule righteously as Christ who is King is righteous.
