How to recognize and deal with the poor
Series Proverbs
The Poor: A Reality
The Poor: A Requirement
The Poor: A Response
From the point of view of the poor, you are obligated to work hard to give to God, to provide for your family, and to share with the truly poor. This is your covenant duty given to you by your Covenant Keeper. You belong to him. He purchased your freedom on the cross, so you are obligated to live for him. Your laziness is a scourge upon your Savior.
From the point of view of the rich, you are obligated to help the truly poor so that they can praise and serve God better. This means you might help them to find a job. You might give them advice. You might help them prepare for a job interview. You might give suggestions as to what they might study. In doing this, you are working for the dominion of God’s people and you show that you understand what Christ has done for you on the cross and you want to fulfill your role in serving him.
