Don't Get Twisted Up
The idea of being proud or prideful is to cause a thing or oneself to outshine another. And this is all the product of a fallen imagination. It's all an imagination… a falsified imagination. Pride at all levels is mere imagination. And this vain thinking, within those who are functioning with this veil of pride, will attempt to outshine the light and love of Jesus. God scatters the proud in their thoughts, trust, treasures, and time everywhere — minus the right place. Pride is the veil that keeps the fool from seeing even the simplest forms of God's common grace. (Psalm 119:21; Isaiah 44:18-20; Lamentations 3:65; Isaiah 25:7)
Prideful — means to imagine your life and light, on a particular thing, outshines and is, therefore, superior than the light, life, and love of God.
