The God who Gives

God is described as generous, free, and eager in His giving because unless we think of Him that way we won’t ask with steadfast trust in Him, and so He won’t answer our prayer for wisdom (or anything else) because there is a question mark over how we will use it. Wisdom (knowing what to do because you can predict likely outcomes) is a powerful tool, and dangerous in the wrong hands. God only answers prayer if the answer will be used for His glory. If you do have steadfast trust, God will give wisdom (not the answer but the ability to figure out the answer) by allowing the normal means of gaining wisdom to actually work.
