Melchizedek was the King of Salem who blessed Abram after he rescued Lot. He is yet another pre-incarnate appearance of Christ, and points us to the righteousness of God that is available to us through His intervention. We need the alien righteousness of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ promises it to us!
