Luke 10: 38-42 Two types of women
• Martha—serving

1. Received Jesus into the house
2. Cumbered about with much service
3. Extravagant
4. Her work seems unnoticed
5. Complaining
6. Not doing all to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31)

• Mary—spiritual

1. Sat at Jesus' feet
2. Made the right choices

John 11: 1-20 "as soon as"—immediate action
Blame God for unwanted results
• Vs 23—because Martha did not sit at Jesus' feet
• Vs 18—she goes to get help Mary

• Vs 29—had to be invited (made to feel special)
• Vs 32—repeats (Martha in Vs 21); consoling was blaming God
• Vs 33—she di not hear blessed answer

Vs 39-40 If believe—she will see the glory of God. The reason people do not SEE the glory of God is because they do not believe.
John 12:1-3 Martha served; in presence of Lord
Not cumbered
Doing all to the glory of God

2nd chance—Mary—not get another because when the woman came to the sepulchre, they were unable to anoint the body because it was resurrected.
