The Beauty of Bethlehem

Christ's birth was revealed to some Shepherds at the time of His birth by an angel, outside in fields near Bethlehem.

The Nation of Israel had not had any revelation of God through a Prophet for nearly 400 years.

Malachi was the last prophet that had spoken to the Nation.

Now after hundreds of years God speaks again to the people of Israel through an Angel, but God does not speak on this occasion to the priests and religious leaders.

Many of the religious leaders at the time of the birth of Jesus had no concept of a humble Messiah coming to deliver them from their sins.

The Nation of Israel was not in good shape, morals were slipping in the Nation, Taxes were high, unemployment was high, Israel was occupied by a foreign force and there was spiritual bankruptcy in many of the religious leaders.

Humble Shepherds receive the news of a Saviour for ALL people.

Christ's birth at Bethlehem still needs to be revealed to a lost world.

God's primary way of announcing Jesus's birth today is not through Angels, rather it is through His Word and through His people.

At Christmas time many people will eat and drink to excess but they find year after year that their eating and drinking and their materialism at Christmas time never satisfies.

Only a relationship with Jesus can bring lasting satisfaction.

The Beauty of Bethlehem is only really discovered when you understand the birth at Bethlehem.
God became man as the Saviour of the world.
Jesus born at Bethlehem, Crucified at Calvary for our sins, Raised from the Dead and Ascended to Heaven we He ever lives to intercede for us.
The Once rejected King is the Coming King.
The Ridiculed King will be the Reigning King.
