The cycles of sin and deliverance in Judges are often thought of in light of Israel repenting. But that is not always the case. In the time of Othniel, God saved Israel in spite of their lack of repentance. Christmas carries that same idea in the while we were sinners, Christ came to live and die for His chosen people.
